Can some one tell me a little about the event and the park? What are the trails like?

Well we found out yesterday we will not be able to make it for new years this year. Our oldest grandson will be going into the Marines after he graduates next year and he wants to spend his last free new years eve with his grand parents' (they have spent almost every new years eve with us). So...
Sounds like we are going to make the trip. Are you able to go up and look at the ultra4 cars? Camping in the field is no problem. We are set up for that. Probably show up Friday morning and leave Sunday.
So how crowed is this event? Is there still camping?
Thinking about coming down for it. But we will be traveling from Michigan and don't want to show up and have no place to camp or wheel.
Been to the bad lands twice. First time with a small group and was not that impressed with it (but we really didn't/don't know the park) and second time was to watch ultra4 race (and of course it rained and turned the camp ground into a swap), Been trying to get down to hawk pride for the last 2...
We have been to AOP once and windrock a lot. I want to go back to AOP. We haven't been able to make it to harlan. Something always seem to come up. lol
Its about 3 to 4 hours for us depending how we drive and if we stop any where along the way. Let us know. We will probably be up there for the weekend with a small group.
