I never bothered with a lipo cutoff on my MRC's, I've got a bunch of batteries for it so i just swap them out regularly, its pretty easy to tell when they are starting to run low. Ive got my scaler cutoff set at 3.3v if i remember right, don't think I've ever had it kick on since I'm running...

I would go with an ready to run AX10, fairly affordable and an unlimited aftermarket. Keep an eye on here and WARCRC for used ones, you can find some pretty cheap ones used ones a lot of the time. You can pick up a Losi MRC for pretty cheap also.

Braided fishing line is the usual upgrade for winch line, I use 100lbs Tuf-line on mine. Also, shoe laces make good tow straps in case anybody else is looking for ideas.

Looks pretty sweet! Kind of reminds me of a stretched out version of the curvy buggy they are building on xtreme 4x4.

I have seen a few builds of people doing that, seems to work just fine.
