XBJRA champ/ 555 and team Nasty codriver
$2400
This 1981 1 ton chevy started with a 60 front/14 rear with 4.10's, 454, 400/205. It now has a big hub 44 front, 14 rear with 4.56's, TBI 350 with an edelbrock carb on it, and a freshly rebuilt Jasper 400/205. It still has the 2" taller, heavier 1 ton frame, 56" rear springs, and the best trans/tcase offered during the 18 years this body style was out, the 400/205. The tires and wheels are 589 Eagle Alum 10" wide rims and 35x12.50 10 ply radial Super Swamper trxus MT Radials.
The body was redone 9 years ago, and a custom interior was put in, as well as paint that was supposed to be some sort of red...and ended up near pink.
The front clip and cab are in great shape, no rust.
The clear coat is coming off on the pink paint, so a repaint would make it good as new. The bed I'm puzzled by. It is off a '76 and back, meaning no gas doors. The right side has some cancer on it. If a person were to repaint, you'd source a new bed or flatbed it.
The front springs are Skyjacker 6" with raised steering arm. The rears are 8" skyjacker 10 leaf brought down to 6". It uses no blocks and has enough spring to put about whatever gooseneck on it and go. It has a ball on the bed floor.
The interior has 2 captains style chairs and a center console that folds up for a bench, lays down for an armrest with cupholders and small covey hole, or flips up and the seat flips up for a large storage/stash compartment underneath
As was stated the trans is a fresh rebuild and the engine has 10K on a rebuild. It was sourced from a 91 chevy and has a 4 barrel carb on the tbi heads.
Starts and runs great, I need to swap the steering box as it is loose and I have a couple tight ones.
The tires, as stated, are 10 ply 35" radials. The load rating on them is 3700 lbs. For reference, a 245/16 10 ply is about 3045. It will take the weight if you want to pull or feed with it.
It does have 4.56 gears, so the highway mileage isn't the best. I wouldn't make it a commuter, but around the farm or around town it holds its own fine. 4.56's and 35's is about equivalent to 265/75-16's (31.5's) and 4.10's
