So 2nd gear hates me, so...I've been having an going problem with shifter noise, but it pretty much stopped when a friend and I lowered my transfer case. However second gear is a lot harder to get into now, so it pops out quite often since i'm not all the way down into the gear. I'm being really careful now and making sure it's all the way in, but now when I shift into 2nd gear it clunks into the gear...(it's been like this for a few weeks now)

Reenactment:

(in first) VROOOOOOOM

clutch in..... pull shifter into second CLUNK,CLUNK, CUUURR

VROOOOOOOM. Once i'm in second it's okay into other gears

It's getting worse so I figured the sooner the better, Any info would be most appreciated. :D

just for info, her jeep is a 2000 with a 4 inch suspension lift and just over an inch of t-case drop, the stick is not hiting the floor as best as can be figured out, my finger fits between the stick and the floor when its in second.

any one have info for her?

Sounds like 2nd gear synchro. Mine had the same issue with the third gear synchro when I bought it. That's an internal issue in the transmission, and will probably get worse as time goes by. You might try learning how to "double clutch", but I found that it didn't help much on mine, so I just jammed it into third gear for a while until I got time to pull the transmission and replace.
