I have a running 2005 6.0 powerstroke diesel engine. 150k miles. HAS BLOWN HEADGASKET. The motor is in my truck now & can be test drove until its taken out. 1-1.5 weeks from now. I plan on taking a video of the truck running before we pull it out.

12 valve is what I put in my 99 v 10 truck

How do you like it? Anything you would have done differently?

Just curious why don't you just stud the 6.0? Alot less money than a Cummins swap. Not knocking the Cummins, they're good motors.

No kidding the 6.0 will run circles around the cummins for the money it will cost. After the fuel pump turn up you have to buy hard parts to get em to get loose. Plus they are really loud in the cab all the time even with a muffler the engine is jut annoying. I love diesels and like the sound but you can't beat these newer truck being so quiet until you goose em. I would definitely consider buildin the 6.0 there are alot of aftermarket parts that are more reliable than OEM. I've had 5 6.0s and like them. Most cummins fords dont get that much better fuel because the cummins guys that post fuel numbers all have 2wds with highway gears. Just something to think about.

The 12 Valve Cummins is 10 times the engine the 6 leak er is. Down right reliable and easy to get power and fuel milage out of. My DD/tow rig is a 95
2500 4x4 with 4.10 gears and when it was still just 400HP is got 19-20 mpg around town and 23-25 Hwy hell even now with huge injectors and twin turbos putting down 553HP at the tires it still gets 17-19 MPG around town and 20-21 HWY. I have spent way too many hours under the hoods of trucks with the 6.0 fixing their junky asses you couldn't give me one to drive. :****:

I have helped build over 5 ford cummins swap trucks from 88-06 there not that bad unless u have a auto trans and getting the controller tuned right or if ur sticking with a stock computer it same thing but u will love it and as for the 6 leak running circles around it lol it cost almost ($2300) to work the heads and egr delete, head studs, and gaskets to fix the 6.0 and for $3000 that 12v can make 500hp and be reliable

He'd be best (and cheaper) sticking with the 5r110. It's way stronger than a 47 or 48 stock vs stock. As for the Fummins being a good truck. I totally agree. However, for the $3000 it will take to get the 12V to make good power your still not figuring in the amount of money the initial swap will cost. Hell a studded 6.0 with just a custom tune will make 450rwhp. You won't see a 12V make that kind of power with just tuning.
