The car is in near mint shape in my opinion. I have a 1982 Mazda RX-7 base model for sale. It has 98,xxx on body. The original 12a motor was pulled and totally gone through at 89,xxx miles. Still running everything stock engine wise. Only thing done to the engine was the removal of the rats nest. Engine runs good, idles around 1000 RPM and doesn't bounce up and down, very healthy. The transmission shifts smooth, no grinding. The clutch was replaced at 89,xxx miles as well. The body was professionally painted at 89,xxx miles. It was completely sanded down and all the small dents and door dings were removed as best as possible. Original color was gray, but I decided it needed some color, so it was painted Mazda Blue. The job was professional, it was wet sanded and clear coated. Washed and waxed. Wax has always been applied and kept on the car since its paint job. The interior is in great condition for the age of the rx-7. I feel I took very good care of the car while I have owned it. Since the fresh rebuild the car has not seen rain or wet roads, it was only driven on nice sunny days and always garage kept.
The bad: The radio needs some rewiring, no a/c, no heat. It does have two small chips in the paint unfortunately and there is one small tiny tear in the drivers seat up near the top. The tear was stitched together, but the stitch has loosned up recently. There was also some minor nicks on the leather door panels that were patched by the previous owner, it was the next project on the car, but since I've gotten married my hobbies have shifted a little bit.
Other than that, the car is in near perfect condition in my opinion.
