Hey everyone, my dad is looking to get a new 4x4 4 seat sxs. I am pretty much ignorant about what is on the market now, what is good, and what to avoid. Any personal experience or suggestions would help tremendously. This will be kept on a ranch in west Tx, and it will be worked hauling corn and such, so a utility sxs is probably a better option than a sporty one. The terrain it will be driven on is 50/50 dirt/sharp rocks and very rugged, almost mountainous. Lots of relatively low speed trail riding with some steep rocky climbs. We currently have a bone stock 1980 short wheelbase toyota pickup that struggles on some areas with open diffs, but the biggest complaint by far is ride quality. That is probably the #1 priority for this. Then #2 is ease of entry/exit cause my folks arent getting any younger. About 4 or 5 years ago I drove a Kubota diesel 4 seater brand new from the dealer. I liked everything about it except the ride was terrible, upon closer inspection, the rear leaf springs shackles were wedged hard rearward against the frame, even completely unloaded. There was no way the highly arched springs could flatten out at all..... the rear suspension was effectively locked. I couldn't imagine kubota designing something like that, we have had great luck with their tractors, but it made me wary of them especially considering the price. Condensed: What is the best sxs that meets these requirements? 4x4 utility bed 4 seats Smooth ride Easy to get in/out
