I have a few questions. I bought it not running. The guy said he rode it over the weekend and when he got it home it would not crank. It turns over fine, has fuel, he said it has a good spark (but I have not checked yet). What should I look at and try to get it started? Keep in mind I have never owned a bike, this is my first. I really want to just try to get it running and hopefully learn to ride it without killing myself :****:

edit: It is a 2003. This is what it has: fmf header pipe, renthal kevlar grips, fork bleaders, and has a new twin-air air filter (all of that means nothing to me, not sure if its good or bad).

Send me pics of you in a cast after 'learning to ride' a 2smoke thumb.gif

Check/replace plug, check spark and enjoy kicking kicking and more kicking

Yeah I do plan to flip it, after I attempt to try to learn to ride it :dblthumb:

Dude gave me a pack of plugs for it. It has a red button on the handle bars, would that be an electric start?

yea check for spark and if that doesnt work make sure you didnt blow the reeds aparts and if that doesnt work then pull the head off and look it the piston is still there lol ( this is all assuming its getting fuel)

Kill button, no elec start on them, all kickers.

Thanks. Yeah I have done some interweb reading this morning and figured that out. Also figured out this thing could very well be a death machine :****:

Wow. So your gonna learn to ride a dirtbike by using that. I would pay to see that.
Good luck. Haha

Replace the plug and put in some fresh gas, this gas with all the additives they are putting in it now is terrible in small engines

I was actually coming back on here to ask some more questions. No, have not ridden it yet. Pat and I tried to get it running on Sunday but was not successful. It is getting a good spark, it is getting fuel, air filter is clean, carb is clean, and that is where we stopped. It has been a while since he has fooled with anything like that and me having zero knowledge of them we did not know what to do next. Pat was able to push it off and it started briefly but it died when he stopped. He said it did not feel like it had any power. Any ideas??
