I've never murdered my very own Christmas tree and thought it would be a cool thing to do with the family. Anyone have any good places to go get a tree off of hwy 410 out of enumclaw? IIRC the permit to cut is 10 bucks?

I figure getting a Christmas tree is a good enough excuse to do a little snow wheeling.

You have to stop by the ranger station in Enumclaw on 410 and get your permit and they will tell you where you can go to cut a tree. There are usually a few areas to choose from but they change sometimes. I believe Evans Creek is usually part of the cutting zone and is also the only place to do any real snow wheelin. The rest is just snow covered forest roads.

we always go up the logging roads in the evans creek area. it's been tough pickings since there has been soo much logging lately.

What started as a group of us taking a few Subarus up FSR 70 out of Greenwater to getr trees has turned into an annual thing. Maybe 10-11 years running, we meet at Mikky D's in Enumclaw at 9:00 a.m. and head out at 9:30.
We set up a base at the gravel pit and go up fro there in groups.

We're actually about to do this year's run on the 4th of December, this Sunday. Come on up and join us, it's a big family event, usually 20 or more vehicles. Most are still Subarus, but we've got 6 or more locked 4Xs with us this year.

Here's what it looked like up top last weekend.
