I've been collecting these parts for a couple years and just no longer have any desire to complete the project. I love my daughter too much and would rather spend my time with her than in the shop. In addition, I love my rockwells too much even if they are heavy. I've got a little over $4500 in all of this stuff, I'd like to get $3500 as well as the space it is taking up back.

What is all there:

4 Dana 80 axles. 2 are cut up Dodge 3/4-ton axles and sand blasted in anticipation of the build. The ones that are still together consist of a 10-lug F-350 axle with 4.63 gears in it, open carrier and a Dodge 3/4-ton 8-lug with unknown high-range gears. Both of these axles are in like-new condition, could be put under a truck right now and be run.

4 corners off of 2 steering rockwells already bored for round axle tubes. This was $1000 in machine work alone. I have everything with the corners, knuckle, hubs, drive flanges, etc. This is all also sand blasted.

2 NEW Spicer Dana 80 gearsets, 5.38 ratio.

2 1410 D80 pinion yokes already drilled for u-bolts.

1 cut up d70 hd with high range carrier. I had this before starting the project but it turns out the d70hd carrier can work as a d80 low range carrier for the 5.38 gears, so I kept it around. I was also planning on using the tubes to extend the tubes on the d80's since they are the same size. I ended up getting the F-350 axle after already cutting the others apart. It has enough tube on it to not need lengthening for the centered rear though so you could just lengthen one side of the other for the front if you wanted to cut down this pristine 10-lug axle.

4 custom brake caliper brackets for my custom wheel brake recipe that can be found on Pirate. These brackets I had cut as an experiment to see if a slightly larger rotor will fit inside the 16.5 wheel. I think it is going to work and I have 4 new rotors that need some machine work to work with it. These are big 13" vented rotors with E=350 calipers (don't have calipers) for manly brakes, none of that 3/8 Wilwood flimsy bull**** meant for 2000lbs sprint cars.

1 piece of thick wall DOM to adapt the rockwell outers down to d80 axle tube dimensions.

1 6' polished alignment bar.

There's lots of directions one can go being that nothing is welded together yet. I was planning on having some d80 side gears broached to 40-spline and welding the rear and possibly a 40-spline ARB for the front.

Here's a pic of the machined rockwell knuckles for now. I'll get more pics of everything else later.

PM me if you want my phone number to discuss in depth. Everything is located in Milton, FL. If you drive down here I can load it all up with a fork lift. I am going to be at Hawk Pride the weekend of June 21 and can bring it all with, but you'll need some friends to help lift stuff. I'm not really interested in any trades but if you have some LPG stuff I might consider it.

I'm currently running my custom wheel brake setup on my rig with .25" smaller rotors than this deal comes with. Since I know it fits in a 16.5 wheel I could be convinced to let all that stuff go with this package and switch to pinion brakes, but that's only if you're willing to go full price, no haggling basically as I have to disable my buggy temporarily to do it. I would also have to keep the sand blasted hubs listed above to put back on my rig. I do not prefer this option as my hubs are machined and lightened as well as machined for the brakes. But if you must go this route I will consider it.

No shipping, sorry.

Wish I had the cash for this, as it is a change I'm going to be making soon myself.. Don't need a ready to go 4 seat chassis do you? lol

Thanks, but I got one seat too many as it is. :)

Oh, and I'll even throw in some big chucks of round bar I had in anticipation of making them into alignment pucks.

Well if you ever decide you were interested in trading it for a single seat chassis let me know. Hopefully you will still have this stuff for sale when I sell one of the chassis I have in stock.

I may. I'm not in any hurry to get rid of it. This isn't a fire sale.

More pics. I forgot that I already had the rotors machined, so they are ready to go!

Re: Re: Dana 80 / rockwell hybrid dual steering project - parts

They are bored to be a light press fit on the 4.75 od dom that come with them. I don't know exactly what that is. I just brought the tube to the machine shop and told them what i wanted. I can probably get a more precise measurement later this week if you need it.

just a little advice from some who has done lots of these when you run rock hubs flipped out on this setup to keep this 69 inch wheel mount to wheel mount its going to push your pinion under the motor with little to no tube between the knuckle and housing so plan on super 8 hubs hope this helps

Re: Re: Dana 80 / rockwell hybrid dual steering project - parts

Or just run lots of back spacing on your wheels like i do and you have plenty of tube with your pinion right where a 60 would be, no super 8 hubs required, and you can run good brakes without custom calipers.

Like i said, lots of directions you can go from this point. If you are interested we can talk on the phone and discuss all the possibilities.

Might consider a trade for a small camper to take wife and kid on trips with ...
