So to clarify a few things because I got quoted a few times.... I said we didn't do the Santa thing in our house. We don't and have never. We have always explained that Santa is the spirit of giving without the thought of receiving in return. My kids accepted that it was the "idea" of Santa and not a guy in red suit with a beard magically entering houses leaving gifts and then departing on flying reindeer. I'm proud to say that when asked by others about Santa that they reply "Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Christ and giving to others, like he did for us". They don't run around shouting "Santa isn't real!!" At least in our presence...and sincerely doubt they do it at school...and if they did that in the presence of teachers I'm sure we would have heard about it by now. Are we holy rollers that "door knock on Saturday mornings" Nope. Are we super religious and sit in the dark because Jesus didn't have electricity? NOPE, not by a long shot. Am I a great person who is better than the next guy, not even remotely close... Hell, just ask the guys I wheel with (except 1tonyj - he lies about everything!!! thumb.gif) We also partake in the angle trees for multiple kids every year, because we are financially able to. We donate to food drives and coat drives and toys for tots... None of this makes us any better than anyone else, its what we do because we can and people in the world can use help now and then. I didn't require therapy because my parents did the santa thing, but it did make me question what else they weren't telling me...so perhaps thats where my "constructive paranoia" of people comes from... All that said, y'all enjoy the creepy elves that do crazy stuff in your houses until Christmas. Maybe my original vehemence towards them was a little overboard. Sorry, it was a bad day... but we still won't do them in our house. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! :woot: :woot:
