Very interesting, I have never used an additive because I felt there is no need. I guess I was right to think that, lucky me I guess after seeing that!!

Thanks for the link. I'm still up in the air about adding additives. Has anyone had any luck with oil additives? What about HyperLube? Does anyone know if that stuff works as advertised?

On a second note: When i worked at Chuck Olsen Chev/Kia we added a heavy graphite additive to the engine oil of most Kias. A lot of these brand new Kias would roll off the delivery truck with a bad ticking noise. We dumped in this additive crap and drove down Aurora in second gear to break them in. Needless to say I have never recommended buying a Kia, but the noise did go away after a good flogging.
