P.P.E. or Personal Protective Equipment. It's very important that while we all volunteer for work parties that we use proper PPE. I was just looking over some pictures of recent work parties posted on the web and half of the people in the pictures don't have proper PPE. PPE could include basics like hard hats and safety glasses as well as specific items required to perform some tasks like gloves and chaps to run a chain saw etc..Right now the DNR isn't making a huge stink about this as I'm sure they understand that we are just volunteers and not obligated to do anything officially. Labor and industries however can cause the DNR lots of headaches over this to the point that we may not be able to do work parties if it gets out of control. We all know that no work parties will mean no place to wheel. Many of us may have office type "hands off" jobs and not be used to using this stuf but please do your (our) best to do our part and use the proper PPE.
Thank you.
