Little update. Took the crawler hauler out for the first weekend. I’ve got a short list of amenities I need to add, but overall, zero complaints. As for the Jeep, the trip before this, the t case grenaded while I pulled it onto the trailer at the house. Broke the Tailshaft housing at some point and destroyed the shift collar. Pulled that and rebuilt it. While I was in there I threw the stock crossmember away and tried my hand at a flat belly with a piece of scrap c channel. Notched the c channel for frame rails, front driveshaft and exhaust. Frenched a new trans mount into it with some access holes drilled into the bottom. And ta-da! I sheered the steering box bolts. We were luckily able to limp out of the woods under our own power. Got back to camp and with a little bit of help we’re able to pull the box and back the bolts out. Thanks @Markrobinson and your ingenious flat head idea. Two small holes drilled in the bolt and a flat head turned them right out. Worked like a champ. Likely going to be swapping to full hydro in the next couple months. I’m tired of having ghetto steering.
