Still stuck on the front winch plate/mount- it's actually been kicking my ass. I hate drilling holes- especially up to 1" and it's slow with grinder/cut offs. It's pretty similar to what Billybones did on his Suburban build but not near as high and tight. Couldn't figure out why I couldn't get it up and back so far till I got pissed and started googling winch specs and dimensions. Don't feel quite so bad now as I realized the Warn M12000 is 2.5-3" taller and deeper overall compared to most other makes of 15K winches. Dimensionally, the Warn M15000 and 16.5ti will actually fit my mount with a hair MORE room if you can believe that. I have it stuffed up as high and as far back as I feel comfortable with operating it, and as much as I feel comfortable with removing, modifying and trimming the core support, cooling lines and plastic trim pieces. With as big and heavy as this thing will be, I knew I needed to do something about it- seen far too many bad things happen from accidents in less than stellar winch pulls or recoveries from side loading. I built a double set of recovery points- two horizontal, and two vertical (one of each on each side). Lowers horizontal with 5/8" thick bolted to frame underneath, total of 7/8" thick at the mount, then the verticals tying in to frame with 1/2" thick plate at the frame, and 3/4" thick out to the ends. All the holes are punched and ready to drill. Might get a little more done through the week after work, but also getting ready to leave for yearly elk hunting trip on Friday. Will probably be offensive to most when they see the sheer size of this thing but in my mind, the function will will over rule. I hope anyway. [QUOTE="Just Differentials, post: 1558149, member: 18343"] Haven't had a lot of time to work on it lately.
