Okay, After some serious thought and real thinking and throwing things out with the wife, I've decided to screw with what's there and make this trailer suit MY needs!

First thing to do (after moving it into the garage so I can do this): Redo the electrical. New lights! LEDs are coming in! First question I have, Where do I get the tubing that everyone seems to use to keep the wiring looking good and protected?

Second: Brakes.... Surge brakes? Egad. TOSS!

you shouldnt need brakes on that. If you want brakes its surge or get a new axle.

The wiring loom everybody uses is at any autoparts store.

Or go out to the yard and find an old holey garden hose and use it for conduit. Free and Way tougher.

If you put a load it it while on a trail it will push you downhill. The only way to get away from it is to power down the hills. Surge brakes work well to keep the trailer behind you on a hilly trail. Electric brakes would need to be manually applied when compression desending a hill, also a good option.

all valid points, but I dont think he is gonna be on a trail anytime soon with it.

If I was going to do this the cbmma way, I could see using some garden hose I have laying around, but I want it to be professional looking when I'm done with the mods.

I might keep the brakes. They might just need some servicing, cleaning, that kind of stuff. I won't know until I get it in the garage to take the wheels off.
