[QUOTE="WranglerSS, post: 94435, member: 153"] I know a few of you guys on here are runing Branik's modified shafts for 50 degrees of steering so I thought I'd post up mine. I have a Stock Mod that I ran in the Eastern Division of WEROCK last year and one of the problems I had was not enough steering in my Solid 60. Part of it was due to the stops on the knuckles and the other was the ram didn't have enough throw. I ground off the stops and mounted the ram to the frame instead of the axle and ran it to the pitmam arm for more throw. This took me from 28 degrees to 38 degrees. This caused another problem. The u-joints was the limiting factor and I exploded one doing some testing at Dayton last Saturday. I have a Bridgeport mill in the basement shop so I picked up a facing mill with carbide inserts and started removing metal. I ended up taking out .75" of depth from the shaft which netted me 42 degrees of angle with the shafts assembled. Here is a short video of the machining process and some pics.
