is pissing me off! So i had a tranny shop throw in a southbend clutch the FE model about 3 or 4 months ago and i have put 2K on the thing so far and have loved it until like 3 or 4 weeks ago. Headed up a gravel road in Idaho to go ride my dirtbike and the thing starts making a metal on metal noise like a screech screech screech type as the tranny is spinning over course nothing i can do at the time where i was so we dealt with it all the way up to the top of the hill. And the whole way back down but on flat ground nothin quite as can be:eeek: This is still true but it has to have a pretty good load behind it to get it to make the same noise empty it will hardly ever do it. So i loaded up the trailer took it to the place that installed the clutch went up the first hill and boom makes the noise but the guy cant hear it because its a pitch he cant hear so he tells me he doubts something will break so keep driving it till we can isolate the problem more. Ya ok i got a metal on metal noise which means something is wearing pretty bad down there and i want it fixed now before it becomes a big problem when im in the middle of nowhere and have to pay the huge tow bill to get truck and trailer home. So he isnt willing to pull it and look without knowing more so i said screw that. Also if you push the clutch in all noise goes away completely:eeek: I wanna know what you guys think its a 5 speed manual trans got 244000 miles on it and didnt make a peep till this clutch went in it. Its full of fluid cause i had it changed and checked to make sure it was full. So what could it be? What should i be looking for when i pull this heavy bastard? (im going to pull it cause im not comfortable towing with it sounding like that)
