I bought one of the Parma bodies, and it says that you are actually supposed to paint the inside of the body. Just curious if that is what you guys do, or do you paint the outside?

Wash the body in water and soap. Then rinse all the soap out. Let it dry then apply the window masks. Mask off whatever design you want to paint. Then paint. You paint the inside of the body so the paint doesn't chip off. Just remember that when painting from the inside the first layer you paint is the layer you see.

Yup. You paint from the inside out.
I found that if you cut the excess or cut the design first, it makes it much easier to put the window mask and other masking on.

If you decide to several colors, you will want to make sure all is done in reverse.

Here are some good links on painting lexan bodies.

Thanks. I've already started cutting it. I pretty much have the rear all cut, just need to do the front. I'm trying to decide on the paint. Not sure if I wanna do more than one color or not.

Consider your patience when selecting a paint scheme. A fancy multi-color job can't be rushed. I know I keep mine pretty simple for that very reason. I just can't wait to get it unmastked and mounted to see what it looks like. The biggest pointer I have is to keep the first coat really light. It will start the bonding process with the lexan that all additional coats will adhere to, and more importantly, it will seal around your tape rather than bleed under.

I'm thinking about buying some type of masking kit to do the paint, but I am trying to find one I really like. Also, this way I won't have to worry about the paint bleeding. Correct me if I am wrong, but is this how the paint sequence would go assuming you are only using two colors....

Mask the area you want as the 2nd color
Paint the main color
Unmask and paint the 2nd color
Put on second coat of main color?
