If u no ur fastenal guy there doing a trade in program on Milwaukee,Dewalt tools ppl r trading there old stuff n the more they trade the cheaper the price on the kit. But it gets better there giving away the the trade in stuff...i got a Milwaukee. 1/2 impact. 18v drill,and impact driver saw zaw jus wanted to spread the word to my hardline buds :woot:

I always wondered how those deals worked.

Seems like they would make the retailer destroy them. By not destroying them they are leaving the door wide open for the store manager or employees to make a killing on craigslist or eBay selling off the decent trade ins.

I recently worked for Fastenal for the better part of a decade as a store manager. We did this on occassion when I worked there. The store is supposed to return the tools to the distribution center with the invoice from the trade/sale. They refurb Dewalt tools in house in 3 of Fastenal's Hubs. The other tools will be returned to manufacturers. Nobody make a mad dash to your nearest Fastenal store. That store manager is misinformed. Otherwise you could just grab all the tools in the bin, go down the street to another branch, "trade" them in and get a bunch of tools for next to nothing.
