If I had to guess the spring rate for two shocks wasn't enough so he added two more. probably got them off of a Polaris ranger or something along that line. If it works it works

Nothing wrong with a low budget build. Especially if it works well. I don't know how many times I've been showed up by a Toyota based rig on leaf springs.
