.. Got my adapter kit in the mail today from 1uzswapkit.com. Mates the early (pre 96) R series trans to the 1UZ. Looks to be a pretty complete kit. Came with the internal clutch slave / throwout bearing, stainless lines for it, a flywheel and all the fasteners that I should need. The motor came out of a 1993 SC400, non traction control. So its pre-VVTI, only 250hp and 260ft/lbs. Should be plenty to break some toyota axleshafts. Also realized that the sc400 had a hydraulic cooling fan on it. I'm going to use electric fans, so today I took the guts out of the pump, welded the feed / return lines up,filled it with Lucas oil and put it back together. (I know you can get an idler from the ls400, but it has a different size pulley, and I already have a good serpentine belt, so we'll see how that holds up.) Also got some 1.25 rod ends for the links. Stuff is getting spendy real quickly.
