Fall's a great time of year in the South. The World Series is almost here, football season has kicked off, deer season is loose and wheeling is even more appealing.</p><p>For me it seems like our annual Dixie Run really sets the tone for Fall wheeling. How about it this year? Another amazing Run put together by SFWDA. 29 year running and I must say it seems like it only gets better. I'd like to take a second and thank everyone who was able to make it out this year and to all the volunteers who took time out their day to make it all happen. </p><p>I don't know if you had a chance to look at all the pictures on the Facebook page and our website message board but they're great. It looks like there were some pretty sweet rides rolling around Golden Mountain. If you haven't had a chance to check it out I definitely would. There's member pics as well as photos from Ricky B Photography and Image Off Road Photography. We even had a compilation video made by the Stones River Jeep Club of all their photos. Other videos include the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place runs up Copperhead Trail. So maybe you didn't make it? Then pretend you were by scoping all that out and acting like you did. "Dude you weren't there." "Bull crap, I saw that guy in the pink tank top". Boom! Your argument is null and void. </p><p>If you still aren't able to convince your friends you were there, get your ride together and make it a priority to go next year. That way you have no excuse! I remember at one time in life I was down for two years putting my junk back together. I promise you you'll have a blast and make friends you'll keep for a lifetime. It truly is a Southern tradition. For the ones that did go, thank you again and make sure to post up on the Facebook page so we can either make up stories like we there or share it with the ones that were. We broke almost all prior records for this long time event. With just under 800 total attendees and 487 rigs we have pushed this event to another level raising more money than ever before. Not only did we raise a considerable amount of money for our Association we have also added many new members including 15 new Premium Members. Thank you to each and every one of you who came out and enjoyed Golden Mountain Park together as part of the SFWDA family. </p><p>What will the money raised do for our sport and community, well that is actually up to you all; our loyal members, clubs, and OHV parks. That's right, the SFWDA is a non-profit organization and as such we have a Grant Program for all active members to utilize. These funds are offered in grants up to as much as $5,000 per applicant for a variety of uses. Apply soon and get your your group involved. The groups have often collaborated in the past at the national level on projects of common interest. The new arrangement will enable the two national organizations to cooperate more closely to create a stronger approach to advocating for increased access to motorized recreation on public and private land. This photo of Old Fincastle Road illustrates the effective prevention of further erosion as implemented by volunteers of the ORFW and a small grant by SFWDA. </p><p> "After three months trail repair is still in good shape and it looks like the water is running in the direction that it was directed toward. The group met up early at the Trials Training Center and after a quick meeting they hit the trail. After a full day working together this small group managed to bring out a mound of trash. Just check out all the bags they filled up.
