As the ***le says. I have for sale a ready to assemble 406 sbc

It has all the machine work done an come with a new set of mached Cam bearings.

This is the thickest block GM made of the 400 family. It is the 511 casting number.

2 Bolt main, with 3 freeze plugs.

It has been magnafluxed, an pressure tested. Then all block work was done.

I have a ton of money in this block, an decided to go LS motor instead. $450 firm.

Just bought a 350 4 bolt main. Last week. Wished I would have seen this. Always wanted a 406 in a street truck I m building. Let me think on it. Great price on it.

Yea my Dad has one in a 67ss Chevy II, with a Doug Nash 5 speed. Probably the fastest car I have ever been in. It is a blast to drive.

Still tempting. I may sell this 4 bolt main. I got some alum heads. There is a difference in heads right? Steam hole.? Not real familiar with a 400. Had two in the past but they were in trucks never had to build one.

Yes I would have the steam holes drilled. You can take the heads to a reputable machine shop an they will do the steam holes for between $50-$80 for both heads.
You are wanting the casting numbers correct?

Yes it does have main caps, No crank. Ill get you those numbers tomorrow. Block is at my dads, couldnt get over there today.
