The Reiter plan was developed in collaboration with user stakeholder groups and the general public. These trails will link with and expand the first round of trail construction already completed at Reiter. This project is anticipated to construct over four miles of trail, completing all of the Phase 1 motorcycle and ATV trails planned and beginning a portion of the Phase 2 trails. This project will also consist of one bridge over an unnamed stream. </p><p> </p><p>The Project Budget is:</p><p>General Site Improvements $2,000</p><p>Permits $5,000</p><p>Trails and Bridge $490,000</p><p>Architecture and Engineering $88,200</p><p><strong>Total $585,200</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>RCO Project #12-1556 <u>Reiter 4x4 Trail Construction</u></strong></p><p>The Department of Natural Resources will use this grant to design and construct two 4x4 challenge areas and approximately four miles of new 4x4 technical trails in Reiter Foothills Forest. The project site is Reiter Foothills Forest Recreation Area located just north of State Route Highway 2 (west of Stevens Pass) and just east of the town of Gold Bar. The trails and challenge areas will be designed for 4x4 use and will link with and expand the first round of trail construction already completed in the 4x4 area of the trail system. The overall goal of this project is to address the needs of the 4x4 off-road vehicle recreation public for the north Puget Sound region of the state. This project is a continuation of developing the sustainable motorized trail system in the forest as identified in the 2010 Reiter Forest Foothills Recreation Plan.
