[QUOTE="clemsonjeep, post: 564344, member: 6317"] So...this time it just worked out that I had to be up in Clemson for work and told Travis I'd drag it back home if he wanted me to work on it. The crazy weather we've been having and his work schedule really play hell on getting to work on it...and I just want to see him and this rig back out on the trail something fierce. This time the idea was to simply fix the oil leaks at the timing cover. Well...in typical fashion the truck had other plans. I noticed more water in the oil and checked compression. This time I saw that 1 and 2 were low, 3 was 120, and 4 was 90. I assumed that when we pulled the head off last time that it warped and was no longer able to seal. So I took the head to have it machined and the guy only had to take off .001" and didn't see any gaps between the water jacketsihinist I used some copper coat on both sides of the head gasket and waited a couple hours after installing to check compression. At this point 1-3 had 120 again and 4 still had around 95. Got it running again and the "new" issue is that it has quite a bit of blow by. With the dipstick or fill cap removed there is pressure...almost squirting a little oil out every now and then. I'm guessing that the #4 cylinder has bad rings based on its lower compression and now the excessive crank case pressure. Just a few pics from the process...
