    When I pulled the engine out of my 87 sammy to put the 16V in the stamping said that mine was a 1298cc also so I think you are right zukkev. Suzuki had a trend from really small engines to the putting the 1.6 8V in newer ones that were sold in canada.

    I run the 1.6L 16V fuel injected engine in my rig. Going from the stock motor to this one was a huge difference. I run 32x11.5 BFG mud terrian, 4.57 gears and when I had the stock t case I could easily burn off the rear tires on pavement. Now that I have the 4:1 tcase in I can only do that on dirt.

    I have been using a **** nite 50/50 spoon (half nickel half brass) with a foot and a half leader and then a 1/2 ounce cannon ball shot out on the snohomish. I typically limit out in about an hour and a half.

    Roll Bar Pads

    Check out Mclenddons or even lowes/ home despot. Look for pipe insulation, may not be as hard as that stuff but it still protects your noggin, and is cheap.
