Brads buggy / car build

Question, what are the cons if I do a hand laid fiberglass floor in my buggy? Thinking about doing fiberglass around my seats and floor pan and the side of the tunnel. Ran it by my dad and all he said was fire fire. Is fiberglass that easy to combust?

How would ya'll do the front windshield? a v or two straight tubes. I've played with it some but not to satisfied with anything. Radiator fits great. passenger seat a little high but needs to be that way to clear transfer case., I also raised the bottom of the tranfercase up a little, I needed that extra reassurance. Leg room is alittle tight , but doable. I'll be able to lower my seat a good bit so I should be nice and comfy. Also need to install some head bump stops above the seats.

upside down V would be cool... Id do it with smaller diameter tubing personally, I hate having to look at tubes in front of me though and and upside down V would put the tube out fairly wide at eyelevel sitting in the rig ( thats why I didnt try naything different... just went with the standard issue nascar style shits.. )

I always wondered like on Timmies ol fat girl how old it would get looking at those tubes right in your face in the windshield... I dont know Im just not into it but it looked cool and different.. to each his own fo sho.. the coolest windsheild spreaders are on rocfun's rig. I love the spreaders on his, very cool looking )(

Its coming along nicely Brad, cant wait to see it on wheels and tires ! I wanna see these Head bump stops too laughing1 )

Fiberglass burns easily, but that's not the safety concern if you ask me. Had my floors been 'glass when my pillow block let loose, kelly would be footless now. The aluminum panels got BEAT bad!

That had crossed my mind, I was thinking about putting some metal reinforment at the floor pan were da foots go.

i know you can get away with 'glasss in certain areas, especially if there isnt exhaust or d-line near it.

I like how Rusty Brays, now Brian Shirleys rig has the driver "tray" is all carbon fiber. I'd like to see more CF stuff on buggies. I need to get access to an Autoclave. Carbonfiber is pretty easy to work with if you have patients.

Can you imagine a full carbon fiber chassis? BOOYAAA!!! Totally doable, but very cost prohibative unless you're Nolen.

Still building it. I've not gave up yet. I will try and post some more pics later.
Next pics should be of it rollin, not going but rollin.

BTW, saw pics of a buggy with pink skins floppin' on RailTrail in the latest CRAWL, you know anything about that, Brad?

Maaaybe.
So I take it I made the magazine,..................................again.
I flopped twice, and the guy that went before me rolled over backwards. Thats a tricky exit.

I'm getting close guys. I'm happy with how it sits. top of cage is around 6'6", belly height is around 22". Wheel base is 108. weight is ? , but it's not too heavy. My little 2000# forklift can almost pick all four tires off the ground. I just hope I'm under 4500#. Tryed to install my trusty old 8274, and it's just a tad too tight. I could make it work , but I'd have to cut up the front and that aint hapning. I'm hoping to get it all welded up by next weekend and paint by the following. If all goes well I'll be riding by the end of July.
