Every day work boots

If you want a slip on its hard to beat a doc marten
I wore doc slip ons for about 5 yrs but now the quality is cheap the back of the boots sags bad and the sole cracks within 6 months I've switched to Timberland lace ups best boot I've ever wore

Another vote for Georgias. I'm on my 2nd pair. I don't wear them everyday, only weekends usually. The first pair were non steel toe. I had those for 10yrs. Eventually the sole wore out and cracked across the ball of my foot where the shoe bends. The leather was still perfect. Unfortunately, I couldn't just have them resoled. Going on 2 years on the same style with steel toe this time since i'm doing more steel work in the garage now. Love them. They are still comfortable all day long.

I'm surprised to see so many recommend Georgia. I bought a pair a long time ago and the insides were worn out with holes in them within 3 months. I actually wrote to the company about it and they sent me a replacement pair which did the same thing. The outsides still looked new when I tossed them in the trash.

So I'm not going to be buying Georgia this time around. I'm glad ya'll seem to have success with them though.

Yeah the liner in my Georgia boots ripped but I replace all of my boots insides with insoles.

I've worn the same pair everyday surveying through woods and mud for 8 months.

That is odd. I never had any problems with mine whatsoever. If the sole had not worn down until it cracked, I'd still be wearing them.

I work for the railroad and walk on concrete, asphalt, mud and rocks all day long. The best boots ive ever owned were Chippewa and GA logger style boots. I just bought a pair of under armor boots to try. The under armors ****ing suck, less than 2 months the sole is already peeling off. Chippewa lasted 2 years before i had them resoled, the uppers were still in great shape.

Find some that is made in USA some Red Wings are very few there brand of water proof sucks gortex is worth the extra $ I have seen good luck with Danners also

I really like my Rocky boots, first pair of slip ons boot that don't rub my legs raw and also the lightest I have wore.http://www.rockyboots.com/rocky-long-range-carbon-fiber-toe-wp-western-boots/RW025.html?dwvar_RW025_color=22#start=1. These are very similar to mine except the embroidery is the color of the boot.

x2. Rocky Long Range boot. As comfortable as a tennis shoe. I got the square toe model for kicking in teeth. Goodyear welt, waterproof, and lined on the inside which makes them super comfortable

Went through 2 consecutive pairs of these 6" Wolverine steel toe laceups in about 4 or 5 years at work and always liked them.

Then after losing the ole leg, had to go to something that was alot lighter to swing on the end of a robot leg. So now I wear Converse steel toe sneakers :****: ....they are comfortable, but I go through about a pair per year now with them at work.

Re:

Went to several stores last week to try several pairs of Ariats. Just couldn't find any that felt good on my feet. Going to look at Rocky this week.

may be a stupid question, but do you "have" to wear a steel toe on your "robot leg"?

Seems like that wouldn't make a **** and you could wear a lighter shoe/boot on that leg.

Honestly, I've never addressed it with management, but I would figure it would be totally ok if I wanted to wear different shoes. I bought the Converse steel toe sneakers before I ever started back after my wreck and have been happy wearing them thus far.

I'm inside walking on concrete when I'm not at my desk, worst thing that could happen to me would be drop an upright 4x8 sheet of plywood on my toe or something. My job isn't rugged enough to need to wear badass work boots, but I do miss being able to wear Muck Boots and Wellington style boots outside of work.
