MATRIX Buggy Build....

Havent gotten a whole lot of work done lately as Ive been working on some projects around the house and enjoying the sun! Here's a couple pictures, rear shock mounts are about finished, figured out my seat configuration and installed a driveshaft loop/ seat mount, as well as some other stringers to stiffen up the floorboard areas.

Spent some time today on the removable section of the engine cage. Ill be waiting for some double lock tube couplers from ruffstuff to finish it off.

Made some tabs and got the seats mounted. Not a whole lot of room, but very cozy

I found a little time before work one night to put in a few more notched pieces. I should be able to work on it some more this weekend.

Thanks guys! Its my first buggy build and Im trying to get it dialed the first time so Ill be happy with it for awhile

So while Im still in some of the early stages of my build, Im curious to hear from any of you EBDs out there anything you wish was different about your current buggys that I may be able to implement into my build. Anything helps.

Thanks, Richard :awesomework:

It's been awhile since I updated bit I have been finding a little bit of time between work, side jobs and getting the jeep sold. I'll post some pictures tonight!

Im in the middle of this right now.

Im changing the way the tube work comes together in some areas and getting the hood line low in the front and short so I can freakin see. Do not limit visability. Im also installing more power but you already have that. And I am making my car lower by about 2" and narrowing the axles a little also. 100% duty cycle parts as well. RCV shafts to handle the V8 and stickies. I am also building in easy access panels and removable **** that is not welded in. Like the motor cage and all the interior parts I am rebuilding to be either on 1/4 turns or screws so I can get at my tranny, front DL and anything else down there. Mostly just little **** that bugged me.

i agree on giving yourself more visibility in the front end area anywhere you can. my nose is huge and i cant see over it very well at all, especially when its stuck up in the air...

my interior floor panels are too time consuming to remove for access also.

Depending on your sprung weight, those 2.0 air shocks may not be sufficient. (okay, maybe sufficient but not ideal)

I'd recommend going to a 2.5 if you can. I had the 2.0's on my previous buggy and 2.5's now on my moon car. So far so good. They don't unload so fast and after I played around w/ the nitrogen pressure, I can move pretty good down the pothole-laden FS roads w/out breaking my butt bone.

Thanks for the input, I plan on addressing that by tuning my shocks and seeing what I can come up with. Go fast isn't on my agenda, but being able to cruise down the fs roads is a good thing. I'm used to a 4000lb leaf sprung jeep, so even 2 inch shocks should be a improvement!

Thanks again!
