Checking in from the island. Weather has been awesome. Not too many cruise ships in, few tourists, but fewer hot chics as well.

Cycling, hiking, hot chic watching, snorkeling, sailing, golf, pina coladas, carib beer, (s)ting sodas (with rum)

Sailed a 38' catamaran yesterday and went snorkeling.

More snorkeling today and cooking three racks of baby backs. Hauled about a dozen huge conch shells in.

Hiking tomorrow am, golf tomorrow pm.

Flying out Thursday pm.

There is a vet school, med school, and a nursing school on the island. If I was planning on going to any of the aforementioned, it would be here. Tons of hawties, but few on the beaches.

Pics or Baned :****:

Pics on my camera, when I get back to Columbia tonight I will download. :dblthumb:

Went cycling and snorkeling yesterday. Rode around the island on E's dad's mtn bike, 48 miles total. Went out to some reefs on the atlantic side, a little rip tide action, but the coral is awesome. Current and abundance of fire coral keeps most of the tourists out. Found a rare conch that was HUGE with the conch guy inside, but we left it. If it would not have been one of the rare ones, he would have been dinner.

Downloaded the pics this morning; my camera sucks. I def. need to get a better camera before I go back.

No fences on the island. Goats/sheep/mules/cows/pigs/chickens wander freely or get tied to stuff:

Has a band in Nashville, looks to be doing well. And dives. And snorkels. And is in rock-hard-ass shape. Had her bad ass guitar with her as a carry on too. laughing1

Damn it boy. If I was a single man I would be spending all of my free time sailing the western edge of the Islands from St.Croix to Guadeloupe. I would spend a few days on each island checking them out and then heading on south past Martinique and St. Lucia, then curve east ward over to Barbados where I would become a professional beach bum and rum sampler for a while. Ultimately I would want to end up back north some on the western shores of Antigua. I could dang sho get used to my toes being buried in the powder white sands there.

I hear ya. I havent drank in six months, but I jumped off the wagon with both feet when I hit the island. I absolutely enjoy sailing, diving, and fishing. I would gladly trade off fourwheeling to live in SE Asia, Brazil, or the caribbean. However, I need about 15-20 years of hard work to afford to retire in that atmosphere.

I definately have a blast on the lower islands (less tourists and development), but the amenities of the USVI (ie hospital and legal system) would be nice. I have certainly entertained thoughts of working as legal counsel in the USVI. Corruption is huge on the southern islands making it impossible to own most land, start a business, or work for a foreign agent. I would NEVER step in the hospital in St. Kitts; if its minor, go to the Vet school, if its major, its a 25-30k flight to Miami.

Oh yeah, girl above's parents live in Turks and Caicos and theyre from Dallas. :woody:

Two weeks in Spring 2010. Make it happen apeters. I will have to get very organized to be gone that long, but it would be sweet.
