To The Trolls......

One of the major problems with facebook is people accept practically anyone/everyone as their "friend' when in reality they are pretty much a stranger. Then they share content that would typically only be shared amongst close friends and/or family. Believe it or not facebook can be pretty cool when you actually limit your friends to you know...actual friends. It allows me to stay connected with people I give a **** about but may not talk to regularly. I'm far from a popular person but I have 93 pending friend requests from people that I just do not know. Yea, maybe we brushed by at an event or something or spoke for a moment, it's nothing personal just my choice.

I like it when you post, saves me from typing a lot. Spot on.

To say something like a social network is anything that could be even remotely considered as a contributor to the decline of a great nation like ours, is just crazy talk. Especially with all the corrupt government, Obamacare forced upon us, and every other gay thing Obama has done, wars, terrorists, etc. Facebook isn't even a small piece of turd in that toilet bowl.

Classic case of "I don't have Facebook, so I'm gonna hate it, and state my overly opinionated reasons as to why it's the devil" Yaw sound like Bobby Boucher's momma! Do you have a tattoo of Roy Orbison on yer ass cheek too? :flipoff1:

Ok, ok, so I got a little dramatic with my agreeing that facebook is part of the decline of society, but it's just the internet.....

Ahh but if the masses that read facespace and believe all the BS on it and believe it, then it IS adding to the decline.
If you think obozo and his minions don't leverage every bit of social medial to stir crap, promote their socialist agendas and contribute the the hate, then I personally think you are mistaken.
The same folks who can't read opposing views then come up with their own opinions are the same who read snippets on facespace and latch on to a cause that promotes the BS they want. (Both sides by the way). The uneducated, misinformed now have a global platform "to be heard"....and find all the people who agree with them.

I think you have Facebook depicted wrongly. It's a way of connecting with friends and keeping up with them, and staying in touch regularly when you don't get the chances to see them as much as you wish. There are news pages and all sorts of info pages available on there ONLY IF you first visit that page and click "like" so that it adds it to your news feed. You don't start a Facebook account and automatically get hit with 106 notifications and 49 emails containing politically swayed media. There is no more news on Facebook than is on tv, Yahoo home page, and every other nook and cranny on the internet. The internet is no different than watching the news on tv. Literally.....there's no difference, in the terms you are portraying.

I disagree. It's a lot easier for folks to give their opinions on facespace then the other news outlets and get validation/rebuttals. Yes, you can still comment on yahoo news stories and msn stories, but the viewing audience who comments is significantly smaller than Facetube.
I have an account, check it regularly, unfollow people, like pages and then dislike pages to try to keep my feed "clean". The crap always creeps back in. So, I don't go to it much anymore. It IS awesome for keeping up with family and friends, but IMO it has been taken over for people to preach whatever it is they feel like they need interwebz validation about.

Sounds to me like the problem is paying too much attention to opinions that don't matter. I don't read any of that junk, because everyone is so full of crap. But everybody all across the world is full of crap.....and always run their mouths. It's just easier for you to see it on the web. It still doesn't change anything.

If only I wasn't at work. I sure could go for a few fancy pants beers and a cruise around town. In that order.

Only reason you still lurk on her is because she don't and you can say things like that. I'm sure you got a go phone so you and Chad can still sext. :cougar:

I think Joho hit the nail on the head. Facebook is great to keep in touch with friends, but, a larger by the day number of people use it to argue about political discourse.

But what does that matter? People argue on here about dumb, biased ****......and you all remain here....is HL going to also contribute to the downfall of our nation? It's really humorous that you guys believe it's that big of a deal. you are never going to stop all the idiots in the world. They are in public, on tv, on the web. what they do only matters to those not willing to just ignore it and go on about their regular life.

Re:

Facebook even has the option to delete or unfollow people! You don't have that here! This is almost hypocritical! Definitely humorous, to say the least!
