I was talking to a friend that is wanting to organize a work party at Reiter. I'm not sure how things work there do the the fact that DNR operates differently all over. Question who is the go to person and what needs to be done and who has been organizing previous work parties and what is there input on this idea.

I've been spending alot of time at reiter lately. . . I wouldn't say a work party is needed. . . . The only thing that might need help is the huge piles of left over garabage!

I think if everybody just went with just one black large garabage bag and atleast filled it up halfway before they left, it would make a huge difference

just my .02cents

the site is haveing some issues right now. at least for RTW members and login.

There are bi-annual clean ups out there, grab as much garbage as you can if you feel so inclined, otherwise we'll al be out there later on to pull out cars, tires, diapers, bags of clothes, etc...
Usually a dumpster full of ****.

I was a both last year! I think everyone that wheels reiter should be inclined to clean up some garabage while you are wheeling! We are the only ones that can keep the place open. Taking out alittle garabage everytime your there goes along way in keeping it clean and open for everybody:beer:

Work parties are different than clean ups. Since Steve asked about that I assume that is what he is looking for. And yes, there is a huge need for more work parties there. RTW tries to have one work party a month. When did you want to do this? We could coordinate so its on the same day. KarlVP usually sets these up, but not always. Let us know when and we can help point you in the right direction and work with you.

So being that you have been spending so much time at Reiter lately (your previous post) how much garbage have you packed out?

I have been there for last 3 weekend straight and have atleast everytime either just thrown garabage in my bed or used bags! Last weekend I filled a full 5gallon bag and 2 weekend before that me and a buddy took out almost 4 full bags from a campsite!!!

Even if I'm not wheeling i still try and do my part:awesomework:

So :kissmybutt: :looser:

I am not sure what my club member had in mind but she seems to want to help the park in any way she can. I would like to help out and give her what ever support she needs. who ever is in charge feel free to call me so we can do things the right way.

Ok great. I'll make sure the org. sees this. I am editing out your phone though so you don't get solicitors calling you. People can PM you for that info.

I am pretty keen on all the areas that RTW is focusing on. Constant work is needed out there. Whether repairing trail damage or other trail "marking and route designation jobs" are needed.

We at RTW try to have a work party about once a month. If your buddy is serious about the efforts you would be welcome at the work parties, or a 4x4 adopt a trail would be most welcome.

Reiter for the most part is headed in a good direction for the "general populous" wheeling, which may be an encumberance for the more "hardcore" types.

Anywho, I think with the support we are showing the DNR, we are in a good light.
