As many of you know, we have been working on getting a man-made site built on the PNW.

We are very close to getting this done, but we have one last hurdle that we can see. We have a pending Conditional Use Permit Applcation on file in Ellensburg, adn a hearing on that permit Wednesday April 9th, at 7pm. 205 W. 5th Ave. Ellensburg, Wa. 98926

I am asking that anyone that would like to see a site built, come support us in this hearing. We have asked for a 5 year lease on the property (county), which is an old county gravel pit. We don't think there will be much opposition to the permit, but we all know how these things can go.

I will be flying up from SoCal the morning of the 9th and flying back on the afternoon of the 10th, just days before our biggest event to date. I will be glad to give a tour of the site to anyone wishing to see what we are planning.
I think wednesday afternoon around 3pm would fit in very well.

Please help us if you can, this facility will be used for a local regional event series as well as our National events.

Please post if you think you can make it, and would like a tour.... :D

Thanks,

Big Rich

We would really like to see a course in the NorthWest, so if we can be there, we will be. But my schedule is very demanding lately, so would writing a letter or something do any good? Maybe a petition signed by people in the NorthWest help. Good Luck, let us know what can be done if not able to attend meeting.

We were going to be leaving for the Perris event that day, we may be able to leave later and head over.

I would like to take a tour of the site, and also go to the permit hearing with you. I'll call you on the 7th. Thanks-your helo co-pilot.

Will try to make it... Im still kinda confused on where the site is... Can u give me a little better explaination??

Hopefully someone will show up with a camera that post up pics of the site.

The site is located about 14 miles east of Ellensburg, right off the Vantage Highway, to the south side of the road and just past some kind of block out building that is just to the west of the property.

As we get closer I will post a meeting place and time, for a trip out to the site.

Big Rich

I would love to show, but I'll be in Penngrove, Ca final prepping our car for the Perris event.

I'll be there at the hearing.

And since this spot is about 10 minutes from my house I'll also volunteer to take some pics and post up ASAP.

I was by there a few weeks back and it's a cool spot!

I took a WHOLE bunch of pics today. I'll post them up soon.

Does anyone know what the motorcycle trials is about? I can't afford to do a full on competition rock crawler but I have a Honda 650 dirt bike that I could use for the motorcycle trials. :haha: :haha: :haha:

Remember most of the existing walls will be covered with Shotcrete designed to resemble real rock formations, the pit affords us a great starting point and alot less digging will need to be done :D

The site will be developed to include bleachers, scoring tower, storage sheds, media tower, etc......

Thanks for the pics

Big

is this going to be for competition only?? or is it going to be open to the public when no events are happening?? comp only or orv park??

It will be an ORV park on selective weekends as well as a site to host the PNW Rock Crawling Series. It will also be open for Club Use and events as well as Motorcycle Trails events and Comp Practice Weekends...

I want to offer the services of myself and some of the other wheelers in the BS4X4 club here in Ellensburg... We can help out as much and as often as you need us... Most of us never leave the Burg... :redneck: Just holler at us...

I can't wait to see how this turns out. This area has soooo much potential. Just walking the property made my head spin with all the possibilities of total fun.

One more pic of the view:

I have lots more pics. PM me if you want to see more.

I was the one in the Chopper. I know I am not all that little, but you should see Big Rich, lol.

We don't mind if you want to post pics here, feel free.

As far as the Help in E-burg, we can use all the help we can get, I will be posting a thread about materials needed for the build shortly...

Thanks to all

I will be at the meeting and will help in any way I can. Rich you should start a contact list/ mailing list to get ahold of volunteers when you have a specific day you need some work done. Add me to it:

Having a comp course in my back yard would be a dream... Thanks for this effort!

I went out to the site on Monday and it looks like the perfect spot. Close enough to Ellensburg for easy access to all the services in town but out of the way enough that noise ect wont be a problem. The canyon already there is pretty damn deep and long already. Looking forward to the meeting.

We should be able to go through the meeting without much of a fuss...

The county, who is the lead agency has determined that there is not a negitive impact to the enviroment.

If someone wants to challenge their decission, it will cost them "$500 and they must submit specfic factual objections"

That should slow the eco-nazi's down, if there are any
