well I am not sure if any of you follow Travis Pastrana. My girlfriend Rebecca and I traveled to Pomeroy,Wa this past weekend and attended the 08 Olympus Rally. It was SICK.. Got to meet Travis, Cowboy Kenny, Ken Block, Dave Mirra, and saw a bunch of others. The nw national Subaru guy. Travis rides the same little BBR pitbikes I have ridden for years and we got a chance to visit for a few minuetes and we got a chance to discuss next years King of the Hammers. He seemed very interested so we will see. Man those cars got up to 130 MPH !!! HOLY crap they were flying. I am looking for a rally car now. Another step to BAJA>.

Wow thats fricken cool you got to meet him. I am a huge rally fan and fan of Travis. Thanks for sharing the pics.

That's frickin sweet. I have followed Travis from way back in the day. Would of been cool to watch that although I would imagine it's not much of a spectator sport

Rally racing is 300% cooler than any other form of car racing, especially Nascar :rb:

Thanks for sharing your story, I bet it was fun to hang out with the guy

Right on Larry. The way your going youll be famous before you know it!!!!!:redneck:

That would be awesome to do! Lucky! I saw him (on tv) driving on a dirt road doing 100+ mph and clipped the bank and rolled. Crazy!

My cousin was there. Hes building a rally car, and works with the crews there. He met him also, got an autographed poster, etc. Cool stuff for sure. I used to race bikes so I wanted to go too, but damn work...

Half the battle of gettin famous is finding the time to do it..LOL.. It takes a lot of patience and ambition. I am tryin like hell and doin everything I now how. If you are any good someone will find ya..LOL. Thanks Brian and everyone for the comments. Thats awesome about your cousin man. I want to build one now. What team is he involved with?

That was here in Washington?? I had no clue about it... It would have been awsome to go to!!!

I defentally agree with the Rally racing being the best kind of racing. Combining HIGH speeds, dirt roads, mud, air, and you have one awsome sport!

Yeah, Travis Pastrana buys a bunch of bikes from my work (I work at BBR). I've never met him there, but I hope I will.

Lucky!!!

Travis is a total badass- period

he ranks up there with John Wayne

They do alot of races around here? Would love to see one:awesomework:

Travis Pastrana and Dave Mirra both stopped in pullman this last weekend to party at a frat house. Some of my buddies told me about it and sent me a few pictures of them there. Wish i could of been there to see it.

Yep second year I think its been in pomeroy. I didnt get to go this year but its only about 30 mins from my house. Definitely a cool thing to check out. Have to hook up with some of you guys next year.

Anybody else have any info or contact for Travis? I will be traveling to Whistler to meet up with his crew while they are shooting for a MT Bike event. I am excited.

Damn right stalker if it gets me closer to racing for a living.. I am going to buy a rally car ready to go today/tomm.. You will be able to watch the debut Gipson Rally May 16th at the Oregon Trail Rally..

Soo... Umm... Forgive my ignorance of mid-80's import hatchbacks, but what is it?

Larry, I know its a front driver but does the 323 have a turbo. Either way, should be some fun.

thats probably an awd car guys. Mazda made a few in the mid 80s, and so did toyota with there alltrac turbos. I would really love to have a renault R5 turbo with the factory body kit. There used to be one that ran around the east side and up and down 405 for a few years. My dream daily driver would be a 93 RS Cosworth escort or even an awd focus from europe. If only group b ralley cars were still around!!!!!

Here is what we did this weekend. :redneck:

Keep your eye on the black/orange #7 and the Green #13.

After the front axle was taken out by the 13 car, the car hit the inside berm, pulling out the motor plate bolts and allowing the motor to go forward about 6 inches, locking the throttle wide open. He couldn't shut the motor off, because the ground for the magneto was on one of them bolts. He shut the fuel off, but it continued to run even after it was on its side, then the fuel finally ran out of the lines. Gonna be about $2500 to get it back together for this weekend. :redneck:

Yea its a fwd 86 Mazda 323 Hatchback with the 1.6 liter 4 popper, hedder, custom tigged aluminim intake with dual side draft webbers, bored, ported head, oh yea, it gets it.

They had GTX AWD Turbo cars which there are a few racing. Wish I had one but a new rule in rally racing is you start in the 2x4 class unless you have a bit of racing experience which I do but it doesn't matter as its the beginner car anyways. Should be fun. Got my license today..

You really do impress me Larry. I havent seen anyone that is as much of a go getter as you. There are few to none that want to do something and really follow through with it.:awesomework: I used to think you were just a dreamer and I couldnt stand you on here but you are really a pretty cool guy. You will be very sucsessful as long as you keep being smart about what you do.Good luck Larry:awesomework:

Its that time again....

Oregon Trail rally kicks off tomorrow night. Good weather is in the forecast, and with the rain we had this week the dust should be minimal. I'll be volunteering again, (keeping folks behind the safety tape I believe).

Hey Larry - you gonna try and talk to Travis about KOH again? I promise I wont ambush you at the award dinner this time :D
