Cornfuzzled yet again...
I won't be able to make it, as several in our club are going camping this coming weekend....somewhere up hwy 20, no wheelin, just camping, hangin out w/ the kids, etc.....:awesomework:

me and a friend are going to be there but not until 11, both have toyotas one orange with exo and the other blue white yellow and orange with a flat bed.

Walker Valley Ambulance jeep
Today CJ5Sam, Toybug and myself wheeled walker valley. First we cruised up upper mainline then up the expressway. Toybug on the rock face was fun to watch, I think he did it forwards, backwards, sideways and a few u turns on it too without hardly slipping a tire.
After stopping at the gravel area at the end of the trail we were about to take off when some dirt bikes came by and crashed about 100 feet into the trail. We heard horrifying screaming of pain from just down the trail. Mark was curious what had happened, I said (kinda joking) there is probably lots of blood and bones poking through the skin, I don't wanna see. Well he comes back and says yep you were right. Thank god there was an EMT in their group, and they got a call in to 911. So this teenage boy has broken his leg just above his ankle, fortunately not bleeding profusely but there was no way to remove his boot, which looked like there was a golf ball in the side of his boot from the bone poking out. Splinted him up with a couple sticks, a sweatshirt and some duct tape (which I had just happened to grab as I was leaving the house, just in case). The best way to get him down the trail to the ambulance in the parking lot was with my jeep, him in back and splinted foot up on the console with his friend in passenger holding his leg. Of course every little bump hurt like crazy and I was crawling at the slowest crawl ever with the boy screaming at the slightest movement. So a very long slow trip down and got him loaded on the ambulance. Some crazy **** to make for an interesting day wheeling, but I was glad I was able to help.
After this whole ordeal Sam headed out and Mark and I did some more trail and checked out the new skill building area. This area has the potential to be lots of fun for all skill/experience levels. Or in other words there are some freakin huge rocks and lines for **** that aint even been invented yet.
It was nice meeting you Sam, your jeeps cool hopefully next time we will have a more normal day of wheeling. I'm gonna probably hit up walker again in 2 weeks. And Mark it was a blast as always, we'll do it again soon (hoping I can make next weekend).

The new skill building area has potential to be bad ass......if the builders try and want it to be. If you are a Walker Valley local and want to ensure a tough rocky play area at Walker, you should take advantage of this opportunity and help dictate the direction of the development.

Yeah I was glad to have been there when I was or his options for getting down would have been much more painful. Feels good to help someone out in an emergency, plus the situation presented a whole new test of driving skill with someones pain at stake.

He said we need to figure out a way to haul gravel and some large rocks to the trail. I don't have any way to do that but I will come help out however I can.

Man, that'd be great if you'd help out-and anyone else that wants to see this area develope into something really cool for Walker.....I haven't been up to see the work so far, but am looking forward to the trip...sounds like we'll be workin on gettin at least one RTV, and we have the little dump crawler at work(needed a ROPS and seatbelt and some minor things), ready for haulin material...hopefully some will bring their quads/trailers for movin stuff; unfortunately I work that Sat and will try to make it in the afternoon, but plan on comin up Sun---likely with the quad/trailer to help move gravel/rocks etc....

There is a gravel pit not far from the area to pull material from and there will be a machine of some sort to load. The tricky part is getting to the location and unloading. There is a short section of trail that would be kinda tight, and the whole process could be abusive for a nicer rig. I was thinking a shorty 3/4 ton with 33's and lockers (and a dump bed:redneck
would probably work good. Zukkev might have some more insight, sounds like the rrr's have a plan in the works :awesomework:

Well, All I know at this point is we're planning to be there on at least the 14th, if not the 15th as well; as for what's needed, I think a mildly built rig w/ the ability to tow a narrowish trailer (utility-type), or a quad and small tow-behind trailer will work well in getting material at least close to where it'll be needed.....club meeting's tomorrow nite and will have more detail on what's needed after then....
