From "Who Are Better Drivers: Men or Women?"

http://editorial.autos.msn.com/article.aspx?cp-documentid=788126

"Statistically speaking, women are better drivers than men."

"Topping the list is the finding that men are cited for reckless driving 3.41 more times than women."

"According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, more men than women die each year in motor vehicle crashes."

"Women have just as many accidents as men; however, they tend to be minor fender-benders. Men, on the other hand, tend to do the job properly when they crash, and as a result cost their insurance companies a lot more money."

"So, even though it's a blow to our male egos, we'll have to give this round to women. Sorry fellas."

Thougts?:corn:

****ies = fewer tickets, if there were more female cops the number of tickets to women would go up. :fawkdancesmiley:

whatever makes you girls feel better. :haha:

and how can a women driver be a safer driver, when most go down the road putting on make up, or eating, or talking on the cell constantly, or all at the same time. :eeek:

how many women get drivin around by men? I know when me and my wife go anywhere I'm driving.

Because Women are better at multi-tasking then men are. :kiss:

With all the things women have to do to juggle career and family life, we've had to multi-task from the get go, including making tallow candles, and rearing children on the frontier and all other domestic functions of that era, to current day of modern day duties of holding down 'real jobs' on top of existing home-making duties.

Women tend to drive very safe cars that almost drive themselvs.

Men tend to drive every other POS left.

how about the numbers? how many men on the road VS women?:corn:

Well since you girls are so good at muti-tasking, could you please add:

using blinkers
staying out of the fast lane when talking on the phone
checking over your shoulder and looking in the side mirror when you change lanes.
pay attention to what is actually going on around you, especially that big window in front of you.

thanks D. :D

that's it, I wonder if they do a ratio adjustment when figuring this kind of stuff out.

Sure thing D. :; In exchange to my plea for the female drivers that are unable to utilize the head/shoulder/windshield/blinker/fast lane - phone talking applications of driving, I'd like to make are request for men to not follow so closely, and leave adequate stopping distance. Apply the theory of the three second rule for adequate stopping distance between them and the vehicle in front of them for normal safe/dry driving conditions and a hefty 5 - 8 seconds for unsafe road conditions.

If it helps the male population for counting slowly repeat the following when applying the following distance rule: (count in the following manner) one-one thousand, two-one thousand, three-one thousand. this method is best employed using a stationary visual marker, try light poles for example, those should be large enough stationary items to glance at as your mark:D and if you loose count, as you most often times will, there are likely additional ones in even spacing along the road you are traveling. for rural applications try a telephone or utility pole.

if you hit your visual marker before you've reached the target counting number, back off the acceleration, and start counting all over again. :;

I totally agree, the 3 second rule is a must for save driving, but if somebody is riding your ass, you are usually backing up traffic from excessive multitasking. :D

Just an FYI, it's the two second rule, not three. Hell, I'd love it if everyone followed the 2 second one. I'm pretty religious about it because I like to relax when driving.
What scares me the most is old people tail gaters. Usually they follow close, not because they are aggressive drivers, but because they can't see. Which means they also can't see what's in front of me. Add their delayed reaction due to age and I simply move over to let them pass.

We only do that to see if your hair is worth pulling.

Whaddya talking about? 75% of the time there is a car on my ass - there's a soccer mom in there because she's not paying attention. :fawkdancesmiley:

The other 25% its the macho guy who thinks intimidation is going to make me go faster than the speed limit. :haha:

I would say men only because cars and driving are something most men are interested in when they are boys. When you have an interest in something, especially starting as a kid youre going to be better at it than someone who doesnt. What I do know is that asians are the WORST F-ing drivers on the planet.:mad:

I know now i am going to get some crap about this but but i would have to say that men are better only because they understand whats happening when something happens. Now a few of us women are are great drivers including Ann, ETM, Crista, a couple of other i know and me.

I vote QOTD for Bobby!!!!:cheer: :haha:

(rant on:redneck: ) What drives me nuts is, when going into town yesterday----2 friggin cars were in front of me going like 10MPH; one was a middle aged lady, and the other was an 'ol fart!!! Worst of it was, there's 4 well-travelled lanes on Sunset (2 east-2west); AND THESE PEOPLE DROVE RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE!!!:mad: :mad: :mad: PICK A FRIGGIN LANE PEOPLE!!! (Rant off!:D )
Now, I would have to agree that the # of accidents is relevant to the ratio of men/women drivers;
Now my mother would not be a good statistic example for the womenz, as she's wrecked more cars/trucks than anyone I know!!!!:redneck: :haha:
