Work Party at Walker...

as of saturday there is no way a camry is going up the backside. there is still at least a foot of snow on the forest service rd. main lot is wide open now snow. the new area is completly under snow. and it was hard frozen snow.
we had to cut 9 trees just to get up expressway, there is alot of downed trees all over. someone needs to bring a chainsaw. we forgot to bring one so the hatchets got a work out.
sounds like its going to be a fun day :awesomework:

Well it looks like I get to help some of my wifes friends move on Saturday and then on Sunday we are going to Leavenworth. Sorry Kevin but I hope to get out there and give you guys a hand at some point.

I am planning on being there and I belive that Ed T will be there also. I am not sure who else as we were rushed to get out of the club meeting due to the place closing down for the night.

I could be down for helping sunday, and bringing up a fellow cherokee. Assuming that is I get the thumbs up for my rig to make it up to the work locations? I've done most of the trails in wet weather, but not snow.

P.S. What's the time frame for sunday's work, and what exactly are we doing?

<---- always carries.
Me too!!!

I'm looking to make it for Saturday. Did lots of little things on the Zuk this weekend, and I haven't run Walker at all since I had my XJ.
See Ya Saturday!!!:awesomework:

Maybe next time!!!:awesomework:

It's pretty snowy up were the work is being done. Was up there yesterday and was able to float on top of it.
Thanks for the heads up!!! If people can't make it, there's other areas needing maintenance (downed trees, water diversion, etc...)

As said above, if unable to work the skill building area, there's always trail maintenence...AKA.... wheelin!:D

Good to know, post up if you hear of anyone else from the Tamers are planning on going...:awesomework:

Come on up!:awesomework: Len(red TJ) in our club is open F&R, but has a winch and was up there in the snow in early spring---only had to winch a couple times...If it's too bad, there's always trail maintenance in the lower sections of trails.:awesomework: Meet time Sun is 9:00 A.M. main parking lot....:awesomework:

locked F&R?
He should be ok open, as long as he's got a winch in case...:awesomework:

I will be making every effort to contact Jim Cayhill, or Alyse tomorrow to find out the exact plans for this weekend's efforts...once I do I will post up!!!! Thanks everybody---see ya'll there!!!:awesomework::awesomework:

Sounds like Sat is the main work day, with Sun being just a wheelin day--BodyDamage talked with Alyse, or Jim today I guess.... Hey BodyDamage---what's the scoop???????????:corn:

Kev,

Talked with Rhonda yesterday and she has the weekend OFF!!!!!!!!!!
She is comming on saturday but not sunday as she works night shift.
You guys need my trailer?

I talked with Elyse. She said that Jim wants us to install a culvert and hardening around it and bring a chainsaw because there are lots of windfalls. I don't know where the culvert is going in, Elyse didn't want to talk much because she is still recovering from shoulder surgery and hasn't been to work in a while.
Sat is the work party, Sun is just wheeling.
Yes I'm still going even though my samurai isn't. New axle, brakes, traction bar, re-routed exhaust is all done, and now I need a head gasket!

Yeah Kat, the trailer probably wouldn't be a bad thing, although we may not be able to get it into the area if the snow's deep, last I heard there was about a foot up there, but that was over a week ago....Your Call.:awesomework: See you two there Sat!!!:cheer:

i seen the culvert just dont remember where. and yes there is alot of windfallen trees. some all the way across the b-1000 rd.
i bet since it is barely over 30 here, and we had snow the other morning that there is still snow up there. should be a fun weekend.

Ok Kev, consider it there and we will see what happens. If we are putting a culvert in, we should have some sort of escivator there to dig and bury it as i am sure the ground is frozen.

Snow = good challange

Cool beans Kat....:awesomework: And yes, I would assume there will be a culvert-sized hole digging device there!!!!:redneck:

Is there a chance someone who is going to Walker Valley on Friday evening could stop by my house and help me muscle the transmission into the rig? The transmission and tcase are all one unit on my rig and this old body is not able to muscling it alone.

I have a tranny jack, I just need some more umph.

Either leave word here or leave a message on my cell phone -

Three six zero four two zero three three two one.

My house is about 400 yards off hiway 9 just north of the Walker Valley turnoff.

Just south of the Big Lake Store, there is a new development up on the hill, Nookachamp Hills. I live right on Nookachamp Hills Drive which is the entry road to the development. The address is 23795 Nookachamp Hills Drive.

I will be home from work about 6:45 pm.

Thank you. All I need is help getting the tranny/tcase in place. The rest is easy.

Actually the tranny is already on the jack under the rig.
