For tracker attachment, fees to get in and the tracker it ends up around $2000 ish fuel there and back and lodging... not sure yet... we have a customer that wants to roll with us and offered up his nascar trailer getup. plus additional drivers (5 total) will help foot the bill along with whatever the sponsors choose to kick in.
 
I do not have the contacts or the money to race Vegas to reno. I wish I could. I will race with you guys or chase Jason. I will not have but enough money to pay my way though. If I could find enough people to help me race it possibly..

That blows... but on the other hand get other drivers to race your car with you. that is how I am doing it... Everyone chips in and helps.when they are not racing they are chasing.. you have already got the hard part (race rig) let them all fufill a dream by being a part of a race team as well. not base the focus on you but your car and the team. when selecting your team pick people that want to finish as much as you and know how to work on and drive without breaking the car.

Come on people... this is your chance.. to race something like this for most of you is a once in a lifetime expirence. Every one is willing to jump on the bandwagon and trash yet none of you have the fawkin balls to step up and race? Everybody talks a big game on here... All talk I guess.

I can't say that I wouldn't like too, but take a week plus off work to do this, or go back to Arizona for a week of bad ass wheeling?
 
So far Brian H has expressed interest in the co-driver spot and finance part. We will need somebody to drive the chase truck and trailer. Who ever does this will need to help with fuel costs. I will be contacting my KOH team to see if they are interested but anybody is welcome to join. I can not afford the costs like KOH again alone.

I would suggest going to Moses Lake with the crawler crew J. You will have a lot more terrain. Sure you have been there though.

I'm going to Reiter Saturday, heard about your little trip but after talking with mauler it doesn't sound like d-line angles will like being at full droop/full throttle all day long :redneck:

you've got 3 1/2 months. that's more than enough time to get a team together. BITD mandates only 4 driver/cordivers. so essentially 2 drive teams. I'll give you the basic structure how the desert teams i've raced with break thing's down.

these are all estimated number.

entry $800
IRC $625
transponder $80

then figure 1000 miles at 4mpg, on premium fuel in august in nevada ghost towns is going to be $3 gallon.

$750 race gas

hotels aren't going to happen this late in teh game, so hopefully someone has an RV!

if you aren't trying to win the damend race, but yet, just finish it, you don't need the big fancy dump cans, but the best forward lighting possible will definatly help! you will be in the dark every day. guaranteed!

you will also need 2 chase trucks, one truck with a dedicated pair of chase guy's, the 2nd truck will have backup chase, and the 2nd set of drivers in it. and probably be towing teh trailer. each truck will need a full set of tools and spare parts.

so in just the numbers listed aboce you're at $2250. don't forget food, chase truck fuel, the night in vegas, and the night in reno before/after the race... and the bunch of other stuff that pops up.

I'll say you can "do" the race for $5k split 4 way's is only $1250ea.


Thats what a friend told me.. I think it would be more like $1500 each if we had four drivers. We will need a chase truck for the race truck and a chase truck with the second driver/co-drivers Everybody will have to split up the diesel costs. I have all of my money in the racer, tower and trailer. Well maybe everybody thats interested can get together and figure it out.

I called BITD... you can have as many driver teams as you want. Each person has to join BITD which cost $50 than it is $25 for them to be in the car. :cool:


Adding to this anyone thinking of doing this will need a fire suit , helmet fitted with radio headset and pumper unit. it is a fair amount to invest but having to build a car to do this is a little more of an expense. to get to show up and race and help keeing the car running is alot less of a headache.

Do you have pumpers in your car Jason? I have 3 extra fire suites however I think they require a 1 piece suite maybe. If that is the case I have one extra. The car will need some work to be ready for such a event. Was just getting a list of things together it needs.

Front sheetmetal/lexan for feet areas

some interior work

front bump stops

tranny leak fixed

added lighting

tool boxes fabbed and mounted

just some things I was thinking of..
