Hardline Crawlers - Rock Bouncer Builds, Tech & Off-Road Trail Talk

Help Support Hardline Crawlers:

Y'all are thinking Larry had a guar-an-Teed place? The way I read his typing is a little different. I read it that he's answering a question with a truth: he's got to get in via the LCQ. I think pretty much EVERYBODY gave up the guaranteed spot unless they placed in the top 20, which we all know he didn't finish. Ergo, anyone who didn't finish last year (like Jason C or Larry) will have to get in via the LCQ or one of the other qualifying events.

I'm hopeful that Larry takes the initiative to compete. I'm thinking he'll get into the KOH via the LCQ. When I read (awhile ago) Jason's recap of his experience, he stated that Larry was flyin thru the desert sections.

I just hope he can keep his **** together to finish the KOH this time.

However, if he does compete, and qualify, he'll earn a lot of respect for following thru with this for a third year.

Of course, I'm betting on Jason C to actually win the whole thing.

Jason did finish.

18. Rob McKinney 2009 koh top 20

Rob hangs his hat in Gig harbor, and my bet is on him to win!
He and Nick Campbell came in sixth in 09 KOH.

I wasn't driver of record on my car. Jeff Knoll was. so, if ya think about it, Jeff Knoll got an entry into his own race in my car. :; If that makes any sence to ya.

Personally I am not as worried about KOH as a race as i am about the ultra4 series. But I am sure you will see my car racing in KOH.

Not really... he was not fast anywhere. I stopped for 20 min to let my tranny cool... Later repalced a flat, helped upright another rig... went into the main pits driving slow for a mile into them off corse. got another spare and visited with the team than drove the mile back to the corse slow... than got into a bottleneck for 20 min waiting... than he came up behind. then passed like RJ brown by driving over someone elses car ... I refuse to drive across another drivers car to cause more damage. no biggie... in the rocks I caught right up to him passed him like he was in reverse (cannot drive in rocks) and never seen him again... by the time I got into BFG pits I was the 5th car to come through. So after leaving when I lost my wheel studs, sat for 1.5 hrs than drove no more than 25 mph for 35 miles on 3 lugs and still managed to at least finish. So at no point was he faster... I mean come on... he has untuned FOA shocks and I am running on Bilstein.... not a chance in hell he could catch me in the whoops. in the rocks I could go faster in a garden tractor . Rob and Nick had a good race... We blew by them too in the chop... no biggie... we had a good race and worked our asses off to even finish by never giving up and being recourceful. we had a peice of it for a while but that is racing... Somedays it is your day but usually it is someone elses. If I get into the race again this next year I am not going down to do well I am going to hand ass and fukin win. I have the car.. I have the ability, and I have the team of people and sponsors behind me... the only part missing from this years race will be the fact I will most likely not have Trevor as my co driver (cause he broke his back). that will suck. :booo:

So do I dis like Larry.... Not by any means.. We talk every once in a while.. I would gladly go play in the dunes and wheel with him any time. but is he faster than me? NO... Can he build a better car or has a better car? NO! but could he beat me in that race....... Sure.. if I did not sho up! :; no just kidding Larry... sure he could.. it may be his day and not mine... that is racing

but Tony on you comment for me being someone who could win... thanks...I feel I am a safe bet and have a better chance than most. and if I am stuck in LCQ.. I will do my best to win that fuker too if need be.

I never drove over anybodys car Jason.. I passed RJ in the open all alone when he was broken going slow and I was running on 6 cylinders from check one on.. You have a interesting way of friendship.. Internet.. Never said I was faster then you.. Never said I could beat you.. I am just there racing like everybody else.. LCQ will be fun.. If thats it for me then thats it.. Doesnt really matter to me either way.. I just like driving my truck and spending time with my friends..:awesomework:

"TONY" said in my recap of the race I had mentioned you where hauling ass in the desert. I was not saying you had said it. I know your smarter than to say somthing like that! :; (that is me ribbing you Larry)

you and RJ passed me bout 1/2 way through after shock. the poly performance GAY JAY was stuck on the right and Doug Bigalo was mid trail (dead battery). I tried to get around him as he spotted me and asked not to drive on his car if at all possible. I backed up to try a different line when RJ jumped in gave it a bunch of gas and peeled out across the front tire/shock of dougs car... you followed taking the same line not more than 5' from my face you drove right over the top of his shock. Doug just shook his head in disgust. no biggy I got around him clean after you two went by. just took me a few more min.

I don't care what anybody says--but going fast in the desrt--is just damn fun :awesomework:

Thats funny cause I remember in detail passing Doug and looking at his rig as we passed on the right in that creek bed and do not remember touching his car or anybody elses. Did not mean to if I did..

So where does everyone stand now? Who's signed up, who's not, what's your plan to get in if you're not?

Did i hear a rumor on Pirate someone's been talking to James about running his car?:corn: Or did i just make that up :stirpot:

Brian H signed me up and payed for the LCQ and I do not have a co-driver yet. Trailtoy1993 may do it with me or another friend.. I will be getting a few things for tech worked out this month and competing in the snow rally event in the Yakima area.:awesomework:

And the most exciting news in this thread: Jason and Kieth from BNS fab are on their way down to pusu. Soo far the odds look good for them.

Awesome, good luck to them. I would bet on Waylon Campbell for the win though.
