Did some measuring on the rears, and they are not gonna be long enough, and looks like we'll need to conjure up somethin for a top mount to inboard them abit...kinda like Sky's upper shock mount...we'll see; might be able to make the rears work, but won't know till I get it on all fours again...As for the driveline,haven't heard of that...:eeek: I've been runnin' a custom rear DL for 2.5 yrs using 1310 joints and chevy 1.375" slip/stub, which I guarantee are heavier than a yota double cardan shaft, and haven't had an issue that wasn't self induced!:redneck:

got one step closer to 4 wheels down tonight though!:awesomework:

:awesomework: Pinion bearings have good preload, and backlash was .009":awesomework:; took the carrier out, cleaned up the spool abit (which also had really nice bearings by the way!), cleaned and installed the ring gear, set the backlash to .007"...patterned out beautiful (hard to tell in the pic, but it is nice!)...just gotta clean up the housing and install tomorrow nite!!!:beer::beer: Also, may have to pick up one rear axle bearing tomorrow cuz I'm having a hard time finding an axle that already has a good one...:eeek:

Well then lets go with the toy shaft idea and run with it, trial by fire! I' should know tomorow if'n I can lay my hands on one, otherwise I'll start cruisin Craigs list fer one. What's a decent set of shocks go for? Glad things are goin smoothly for ya! Stoked to see pics of it rollin.

All I did was buy 3 cans of ultra flat spraypaint at the hardware store, sprayed the whole thing khaki, plucked a fern and some cedar bows, and over sprayed them with brown and green......disappears in the woods.:beer:

Mines already got sidekick power steering, should just be a matter of high steer arms, tierod, etc.

So, got the wheel brng and outer seal today, and assembled. Put the axles in and got it sitting on all fours!!! Sits right where I mathed it out...

Is that measurement (20 1/4") from the rig it came out of, and is that the collapsed length??? Let me go measure the flange to flange on the rear now since it's on the ground

K--it was in an 85, but it had all 83 running gear under it. The driveline is 20 1/4 from flange to flange in the exact position it was in when installed in the truck it casme out of.....does that make sense? Chopshop says he's got an 84-85, so maybe between the two of them we can make this work?

OK, flange to flange on yours is 20 3/4", so it may well work...so hang onto it...
