Learning as we go guys. I did not plan on being upside down on backdoor and we would have finished if I it weren't for the broken wheel studs. No worries we had fun. What do you expect me to be ashamed or something? The rig was fixed and in the race the next day.. Maybe I should have just given up and put it in the trailer or got pissed off? Sorry not my style to give up or get pissed off. We worked with what we had been given and ended up racing because people like our team and appriciate:awesomework: what we offer KOH.. There is more to our team and the show we bring then what you read on this little box. Get down there next year and see for your self..

but I know that sponsors never put all there egg's in one basket, they sponsor multiple racers for a reason and they love any media coverage especially when it is either winning or major carnage, you cant deny that Americans would rather watch 50 rollovers than watch 50 people drive over the finiish line.

It was different this year then past years Brian. Wish you would have made it for the crazy adventure we had. Thanks for your support over the last few years though. Maybe you will make it next year to experience it for yourself. Glad you are doing the car racing thing sounds fun..

nope just saying i saw him do it once and i dont blame him for trying to do it the same way again, are you going to say you wouldnt?

I seem to remember you saying to me, I hate not being able to get over something so I tend to break stuff and hammer down because i get pissed off if i cant get over something.
I have raced (not koh style) but i know that when adrenalin kicks in its also easy to get carried away.

I to have raced..... I raced outlaw compacts and demo derby. I know what adrinaline is all about and to be competitive you need to keep it under control.:awesomework: This year Im going to get back into it and try and do aswell as i can.

very true, you do have to keep it under control but sometimes people make mistakes.
wish you the best of luck on your racing, might just have to come see you race sometime, it is for sure a much more family friendly and easier to watch then some of the other things i do for sure.

I never met you, but to be honest I have enjoyed the "entertainment" you bring to this website. :redneck:

As for the pursuit of your KOH dreams, I will say this. You did what you had to and took advantage of every opportunity that presented itself to get this far. No shame in that at all. On top of that, you have improved each year and leave the river bed with more knowledge each time. That in itself is worth a hell of alot more than what these e-bullys have to offer. Keep doin what you been doin and someday you might finish one of these things.

Racing of any form has always been, and always will be about pushing your equipment as hard as possible AND keeping it together. It's hard to place when you're on the side of the course broken down (unless your idea of placing is "DNF"). It's a fine line sometimes, but any successful racer needs to learn it. There is a time to be agressive and a time to think about your equipment. Understanding both will push you higher in the standings than just understanding one. There is, of course, much more to racing, but a lot of street punks that think they're fast and want to take their game to the next level need to learn this lesson first.
 
Good effort, Larry... entertaining as always.

And no, I don't think your 1.5" tubed chassis would come close to passing score/BITD tech.

When I talked to Dave he said 1.75 is recommended not mandatory this year for koh. The new trent fab buggy is also 1 1/2 .

Not arguing with you, but that's NOT what was in the rule book when Larry had it down here and I read through it. It was actually one of the things Larry was concerned about but then got the OK from Jeff or Dave to run it. Regardless, my point was that it would NOT pass SCORE/BITD tech, that's the question that was asked.

Over 4000 lbs? Not many cars are over that.

I didn't think he rebuilt the whole chassis. Is it just the roll cage that needs to be larger?

From what dsi was saying that is all it needs to be.They redid it from the a pillar back leaving the sub frame intacked.

If I was to race in Score or Bitd then I would look in my Score book and see what needs done. Building a new cage would not be too tough however it would need to be done very carefully and correctly.

Looked thru all the pics that I could find on Pirate and saw several people running Rockers...

How did they fair overall?

I LOVE mine in the snow, but don't play w/ them TOO much in the rocks and stuff...

They're gonna get the old "best tire I ever ran, bla, bla, bla" from a person sponsored by them.:;

On the rocks, they worked great for the ThoseGuys/Gals in WeRock......I account their success more to driver/spotter skill than the tires though.

Pit Bulls are not the best at anything, but I do here good things about them. These tires (without sponsorship:;) would not be my first, second or even third choice for a high level desert/rock crawling race.

And I know you run them, just had to knock my .02 in there........:D

I just found it interesting to see so many sets of them on different rigs down there with all the "comp" tires available...

A lot of the reason people run Rockers is for their tough sidewalls. There was not a flat Pitbull this year at KOH. I think they work pretty well but I have also had BFG Crawlers and super swampers. Its a great balanced tire for around here and in the desert and rocks. Kevin Yoder has had great results with them and Brent Porter. They are a relatively new tire to the market and have growing pains just like any tire but I am sure that as far as growth goes Pitbull is the fastest growing tire out there. Not to mention that the owner of the company is one of the coolest people I know and a great supporter of our teams. Mike Green from Pitbull is a hell of a stand up guy and Those Guys Customs will support that statement.:awesomework:
