to wide for the busy?

This will not turn into "whats the width" ***** fest guys......

Can somebody contact nancy and get the words from her mouth on this subject?

If you don't like a few dents then busy isn't for you...

:awesomework: I hate ***** fests too.

There are two sides:

1. If there is a width restriction written as a rule.

2. If so, If that rule is enforced to the point it is a concern of an ORV user.

If the rule is not enforced (apparently it is is not, if even it is a written rule) then someone that asks the question, "...can I go." should be answered YES.

I doubt anyone is as concerned with the technical aspect, as the enforcement issue.

And......I believe the OP question was with regards to physical limitations.......not rules specifically.:;

Not a *****fest oh no:eek: Actualy I did make a call. Called joe and got a clarification. Seems like were both right (rick) There is no written rule. However the bridges were built at 82" and that is supposed to be the limit. Just as your not supposed to drive on the sidewalk if your rig is to widefor the street your not supposed to drive on the rubrails either. If you damage the bridge or manage to fall off the bridge you are then liable for the damage you cause.

Now here is something to think about ecspecialy if your building a rig right now. Many peopel complaine endlessly of all the rules and restrictions at Walker, Tahuya and now Reiter well get ready because we will be doing a forest plan for Elbe in the very near future and guess what ..... There will be rules put in place in writting and posted just like any other government facility.

If the OP's friend is as wide as described......looks like he shouldn't go.

Does anyone agree with this?

I would think if their is a width restriction. Whitch it sounds like thier is not it would be posted on the signs with the requirement for running that trail.?

I would hope that the DNR realizes that wider vehicles are more stable and safe offroad and on sidehills then say a narrow tracked vehicle.

This can be easily demonstrated for the DNR officials if the need arises.

people actually followed her home from the orv park.

That was me. :D

I always knew you had a thing for her.

The bridges are 82" if he is building the rig then he should try to stay under that width, I have helped build the bridges and they are not fun, if you are too wide it tears up the rub rails and further deteriorates the bridge. Use common sense and it should work out fine. :awesomework:

On a side note, maybe everyone that is over width should just simply foot the bill to build wider bridges then all of this width stuff would go away :;

Really? This is a realistic option? Pay to be over 82"?

Anyone else agree with this?

I just got off the phone with my friend. He is 92 inches wide, and no rear steer. He made it just fine, although it was kinda hard for my willy's to pull him out the last 1/4 mile after he broke a ring gear.

The DNR will take donations, I even have a form that can be filled out so the money can only be spent where you specify:awesomework:

After their donation is given, does this person receive a free pass to drive their "over-82-inches" rig over the 82" bridges?

A question for the folks who do the regular bridge repair and trail maintenance: ( This is all hypothetical of course. ) With these wider rigs now paying for their impact on the many bridges at Elbe, are you ok with that?

For someone that will never wheel elbe you sure are showing alot of interest in the place.

We just did work last year on the only bridge on the busy wild and with the way we fixed it it doesn't have rub rails anymore(there very minimal com paired to what there were before).:D

A few of the guys that run the wider rigs at Elbe were there helping:awesomework:
