Ok I talked this over a little last night with a friend of mine who is a long time smoker going back to the 70's....

As he spoke I noticed a few things and brough it up with him.


1: Most pot smokers I've ever known also hate God or the idea of religion.


That being said pot smokers and religious people mirror each other in a multitude of ways as pertaining to thought process when defending their beloved beliefs.

I say keep it illegal or just de-criminalize, but don't fully legalize. I have several friends who grow it to pay the bills and some of them don't even smoke it. If it was fully legalized and the government got involved it would likely decrease the quality and put my friends out of business.

The biggest postive I see from legalizing it is that it would get it out of the hands of our children. When I was growing up it was far easier to get a bag of weed than to get alcohol. I was talking the other day with an 18 year old who smokes it and he said it is the easiest drug for him to get his hands on and alcohol is the hardest. The establishment of a legal drinking age and associated legal penalties have made it so that no one wants to be responsible for providing alcohol to minors, yet weed is illegal no matter who you sell it to so there is much less of a social stigma against selling it to minors. When I was young I knew people who were 21+ that would sell me weed without hesitation but would not even consider buying me alcohol.

Pot is easy as fawk to grow. IF made legal it will simply explode in use and availability. And as far as I can see like religion with the religious, pot is praised and almost pushed by TOO MANY pot smokers now days. They want EVERYBODY to poke smot !!!!


When I was growing up in the early 90's I knew tons of people (neighbors, older brothers of my friends etc.) who smoked but. BUT at the time I had no freekin clue they did.

They kept thier mouth shut, smoked in their garage, and would NEVER sell or offer it to any of the neighborhood kids. I really have no problem with these type of pot smokers. They also tend to be ocasional users not flat out pot heads.

However times have changed, tons of people grow it to make MONEY !!! And anyone willing to make money off pot eventually sells stuff that has higher profit levels, and is offered every time a damn kid turns around. IT's totally different now days.


Of course I realize I'm talking to a bunch of hillbilly gear heads who most of were born with a whisky bottle and a doobie in their hands.:haha:

The rest of normalville drugs were a far off thought only dicussed in DARE class. I spent my time building forts, dragging my TONKA truck behind my bike with a rope, and having fun not smokin pot or drinking. :fawkdancesmiley:

Where did you grow up? Back when you were 12 washington was 1/20th how fawked it is now. Very rural, very hard working middle class. Very normal and average.

From what I've seen the average adult has their head so far up there ass when it comes to the realities of being a kid now days they simply can't see.
 
I grew up in Burien. I have no POS uncles. Kids at school my age had it, and it wasn't a big secret. Maybe THEY had POS uncles, who knows, but the point is, it was available to me at 12 in the early 80's.

You don't think kids growin up in Burien now have it any different than you did back in the 80's? Did you havtta deal with Gangs, drive by's, lots of hard core drugs, etc. ?

Do you think the people who are commenting here are a good representation of a cross section of America? or Washington?
 
I grew up between Burien, and White Center, and from middle school on, you always knew who had weed, and who you could get it from if you wanted it.. It just wasn't my thing. Never smoked weed. I don't see myself ever starting for the sake of getting high. Although if I ever had bad arthritis, or some other chronic pain, I don't see any reason not to give it a try.

Ok no joke........

I was very close to goin in as partners to sell medical in a retail place here in Marysville.

The whole " non-profit" is total bs. There is TONS of money in this. I mean gross obscene amounts of money.

I simply could not sleep at night selling this ****.
