I have a really old snappy box at home and a newer (bout 5 years now) matco box in storage (we have built in boxes now) and the quality is much better than some of the other makes on the market.
Was my new toolbox worth 12k plus after it's all seaid and done.... probably not.
But I'll likely never have to buy another.

Snappy wrenches, snappy and matco sockets and ratchets, have been far better than others in my experience.

Other stuff.... it's all a mixed bag.

Kevin, I've never had an issue with Cornwell warranty. Same as any other tool truck that wants your money every week. I really like their impact sockets but the chrome stuff isn't the best. I have some old Corny wrenches that are real nice but my newer ones the chrome peels of the 1st time you beat on them.

...We couldn't seem to keep a dealer up here more than a few months once the long timer (15yrs) retired...And I was told by the last one up here to mail it in if you want timely repair :rolleyes: ...That was the last straw for me, and several others i know in the field had the same or similar experience...Traded every last cornhole tool I owned off, and have never bought another since...Been 10 yrs now...

I broke a coworkers Cornwell hex socket and had to call the truck to come replace it because he never came to our shop. We tried to get him to stop by every week like the others, but he never did even though he stopped at the shop across the street. We ended up breaking the same socket again later on, he told us to mail it in that time. We gave up on trying to get him to come by.

There is a big difference between what is acceptable for your home garage, and what you make your living with. Many of the tools I used for work were Snap-On, Blue Point, or Cornwell. The quality and service is worth the initial price. Good tools are more of an investment. The tools I have at home, however, are a mix of old, used, cheap, and Chinese. If I break a tool then it wasnt worthy, and is either cheap enough for me to just go buy another one, or is covered by warranty. I guess the important thing to consider is whether or not you can afford the downtime that busted tools will cost you.

I have the same story with MAC down here! Haven't bought a MAC tool for 12yrs. :looser:

When it came to tool boxes I wanted something that will last and if needed I could pass down. I've had/have the crappy Craftsman tool boxes. They work great for a at home do it yourself guys but even then they fall apart. I worked on cars professionally for 5 years and then moved up in my career field and no longer needed to invest in spendy tools. All my tools are paid for but I currently have a Snap-on 3 bay tool box which is almost paid in full. Which will be by the end of the month. It's now sitting in my garage at home and makes a nice addition to my new house. I know this tool box will last for years and years and look great if I can keep paint over spray off of it. :redneck:
