Not sure when my ancestors made it to the northwest but my ancestors landed at Plymouth rock in 1620 - 14 generations ago.
5+ on my dads side and 3 on my Moms side.
I'm also at the least 4th generation to work in the woods.
i cant remember how many generations, but my family was the original land right holders to prety much all of what is now lynden continuing over twards bellingham... so i guess you could say we were some of the first NW settlers
Pretty cool stuff...:awesomework:some late night research shows the Pyeatts first settling in the late 1840's... so yha, i guess that makes them some of the first white settlers, not explores in the area.

we still have pre paid burrial plots up in lynden, i think they bought 40 plots for a penny....
berthison park was part of one of the homsteads that got donated to the city about a century ago
i learned a bunch just recently, was kind of cool...
