Since the earliest exposure to Covid-19 in the US, there have been a 100 affected deaths. (90% of those were over 55 and/or had underlying health issues)

Also since that US exposure there have been 155,000 deaths from other causes.

The worse may be yet to come, but I still believe we are really over reacting. Either that or we do not value lives lost on a daily basis enough.

News, socialist media, and mass quantity toilet paper buyers only value lives lost due to the most recent fad/issue (global warming, storms/tornadoes, violent crimes, drug related cartel issues, mass shootings), not car accidents, underlying health issues, lightning strikes, drug related ODs, etc.

Working in healthcare administration for this has been interesting. We have 5 hospitals and nothing really bothers our emergency preparedness group. This virus has these guys sweating a bit. They say we are going to come through it but tornado + virus has been a rough few weeks.

not sure what ya mean but hell gm already offering 72 months 0% financing. When the economy tanked before the government gave the bail out there was great deals. I’d bet this time there will be better deals. And I’m a red blooded man. I don’t drive 1/2 ton trucks :flipoff1:

I think if the general consensus isn't at minimum a slight over reaction, then it isn't being taken serious enough. It's seemingly under control but it is a risk versus reward measure. If it got out of hand it could be like Australia's brush fires. In general, though the US is much more spread out and anti bacterial than Italy. I'd assume China is a population driven thing and working conditions, possibly? Now outside of that on economy, elections, etc. make your guesses and act accordingly. I'm going to social distance straight through the end of the year. molaugh

We have been rained out for basically the last three months at our tree service. Now with this, were getting kinda worried a lot if our backlogged customers will cancel.

I also own a machine and fab shop. So far we have been as busy as usual. We do some small government contract work and commercial stuff. As long as they don't cut off power for some reason and ups keeps running, well be good to go for a while.

If they close daycare, my wife will have to work from home. Well have to split work time and watching our daughter.

You always have a sense that alot of people dont have much common sense but this issue has really put a spot light on it for sure. Seems that a little common sense and respect for your fellow man would go a long way towards helping us end this thing sooner than later. I think we are at another six weeks before we hit the downside cause of it. Just hoping we dont have a 2008 economy hit because of it.

We are lock down as of midnight last night until April 13 (but will probably be longer). We live in Michigan. Which really sucks. Been working all winter on the juggy. We were suppose to go down to Hawkpride on April 15 for a long weekend. The wife besides working her full time job (as an office manager) also works part time during tax season helping out accouple CPAs. So she puts in some long hours in the closer it gets to the filling deadline. That is one of the reasons we were taking of for a long weekend on April 15th. But with all this crazy crap going on who knows when we will be able to. And they have pushed the federal filing deadline to July 15th now. But not the state or cities yet. Crazy times.
It is going to be interesting to see how the world changes because of this. For better or worse. It will change.

About a month ago, I had a viral case of double pink eye and a “bad cold” according to the doctor. Made its way around our house. Lasted about 2-3 weeks.
Now they’re officially saying that pink eye can be a symptom. Not sure if I actually had it, but sure seems that way. I was absolutely beat for about a week. Could barely stay awake. I just assumed it was due to not sleeping worth a crap. Tons of head congestion. No cough though. So who knows.

Wife had it in one eye and a cough for about two weeks. Kids had very minor symptoms.

I dont know anyone with a confirmed case but I have several friends that believe they had it a month ago or so. It is entirely possible as it was first documented in China in December.

I know several that have had it but we are the damn epicenter for testing and treatment in Nashville. Only 1 person I know had symptoms. Rest were asymptomatic and only tested due to contact tracing of known cases.

I’ve been exposed to 2 folks that were positive, when we found out we shut down the brewery and got tested, we should have results back on Friday, I feel fine, but I’m February I was sick for the whole dam month, no fever though, and I never went to the dr.

most people ultimately won’t get tested, because most people aren’t getting that sick.

Starting Dec 26, I went through 9 days of extreme fever, developed severe bilateral pneumonia on day 5, multiple negative flu tests, strep tests, and cultures. And it started one week after we hosted customers from Shanghai. The diagnosis I got was “unknown viral infection”. Most everyone else in the shop got sick and missed a few days of work in January too.


that was before there were “official” cases of covid-19 in the states.

Another one that thinks its been here already. I'm not one to get sick, maybe once in the last 5+ years(probably longer). Mid/Late January I woke up on fire, coughing up all kinda ****, felt like hell for a solid week, hearing was affected in my left ear, along with some strange **** going on with my eyes. I wrote it all off as a nasty sinus infection and carried on.

I had a case of “not flu” a week and a half ago. 103+ fever, sore throat, cough, chills, terrible body aches. Went to urgent care and tested negative for the flu, they gave me tamiflu anyways and sent me home. Told me to go to the ER if I had trouble breathing, but because I’m 36 I didnt qualify for a test

We had one of our companies that we work for, had one worker test positive and we had 12 people working in close proximity to him. He was originally diagnosed for Pneumonia and re-diagnosed 6 days later as COVID-19 positive. We have sent all of our workers home immediately. He should have stayed his ass at home, but instead he went back to work and screwed his whole company and ours as well.
