Hardline Crawlers - Rock Bouncer Builds, Tech & Off-Road Trail Talk

Help Support Hardline Crawlers:

I like the OG version better. Made it look like it was on some kinda damn extreme loggers show.

Forums are definitely slower but not all of them are dead (RIP Pirate). The user interface and ability to post pictures on here is the easiest it has ever been since I joined.

Here are a few ways I can think of to keep this place active/have more activity.
*Create a thread in Trail Rides for every single trip. Never know who else wants to wheel that weekend or who else forgot about a park/didn't know about a park until pictures are posted. After a trip, post some pictures and a brief write up about the trip.

*Create a build thread for anything (Nick's tree cutting and fire burning for a house, trail rigs, trailers, tow rig changes/fixes, old equipment, etc) and that can be for junkyard tech or high dollar tech.

*Bring back more Chit Chat etc. If you don't want to look at TonyB's or JD's beer glass pictures just keep on scrolling instead of trying to run them off/tell them what to post or not post. Tell road trip stories, cool places to visit, local eateries or must visit places, etc.

*All in all, it can be summed up as "More wheeling and less bull****".

I agree. One of the more active threads on a different forum is "What did you do to your rig today". Basically a place for people to post up info and pics, without needing a full build thread.

Luke you might be surprised who would want to read about it. I myself have a pile junk that I need to be working on and your build may give me the motivation to work on mine.
Besides I haven't had as much interest in a forum since you and Pokey went at each other.
So start typing away.

x2. I like to see people build stuff cheap... as my ****box gets all the cheapness I can throw at it.

That could be a good idea for here too. Except then the people that never work on/enjoy their rig would complain about all the ones working on/enjoying their rigs...

Smart phones ****ed it all up. Im guessing 80% of people don't even check forums from there home PC and it's a pain in the ass to post pics on forums from your phone so everyone just dumps them onto FB or Instagram.

I find it super easy to post from phone on here. Make your post and hit “Attach files” button and it will ask where you want to go, photo album, and select picture and hit done. That is on Iphone though. Not sure if it is same on others

My suggestions would be to make an app that loads the forum and enable social media logins. Maybe regional sub sections to attract users from all over.

I would add 2 other features to the app. Chatrooms and GPS tracker to save/share trails.

I started an app based groupchat almost 2 years ago and it's been great for ffindin people to go wheeling with and bringing new people to offroading. It's also where I was told about this site.

I'll try to start a random **** i did in the shop today thread this week sometime, I'm constantly doing work on different rigs with a few long term builds going on as well. I tend to bounce around randomly between projects and havent felt like making a thread for each one since it may go 3-4 weeks without being worked on

We have some logins already, no app required.

we had an app and I think 2 people even opened it up...so I closed it up instead of paying $500 a year for all that was required. The app view here works well.

the off map road Gps is an interest of mine but requires a bit more exploration.

I may look into adding some local and other forums.
