Had to take my eldest dog to his vet today, for swollen tail and what would be a normal hot spot. We had to wait in parking lot, vet came out said he has a mass in his tail, nothing he could do. Before the the Covid election virus of 2020, he woyld have done a whole lot more!

We're having an appraisal on the house next Tuesday, the appraiser has a whole list of procedures that we have to follow.
He will knock on the door to let us know he is there. He will then measure the outside of the house. Meanwhile, we are to open all interior doors and turn on every light. Then he will knock again and we are to go outside a different door. He will then come inside and inspect the house, but not touch anything. Then he will leave and call us to tell us that he has left and we can go back in.

with the price of lumber and materials now, your house is worth at least a cool million. And I have no idea where or what it is.

Tue story: a few months ago, My cousin sold their house, bought another. The people they bought from were going to take the $ from selling the house and build a new house on another piece of property they owned. A few weeks later they came back and offered my cousin +$100K for their house, because it was going to cost them ~$300/sqft to build the house they had budgeted $200/sqft for.

Yep, the housing **** right now is crazy. Somebody should start a thread about it. We've talked for a while about doing an addition to our house and staying in it forever. We have even done a few things to prepare for it, but now is not the time with materials as high as they are. Anyways, with the prices people are getting for their houses these days, now we've been talking about selling it and buying some land and a trailer to live in while we build another house. We built our current home in a subdivision back in 2004. House down the street sold in less than a week for over asking price.

I had a guy stop by and give an estimate to rebuild my back deck. We talked about some changes in the construction I wanted. He said wood prices were up at the moment. Let's just say I will be waiting until prices normalize. :oops:

Yup it’s ridiculous, cheap ass osb is 25 bucks a sheet now. When I had my pole barn built about a month ago, when the guy gave me the quote and when he started (which was 2 weeks) the price in material went up 860 bucks, I’m sure glad it’s done and no future projects down the road
He showed me where some boards had doubled and 1 board had tripled in price. Price gouging in my book......merica

Yep, definitely price gouging! Can't stand this crap. Makes me think about when it snows around here and some of the tow yards will price gouge folks. Really pisses me off!

I have three contracts signed for inground pools where they are building a new home. I haven't started any of them. But all three are on hold because of lumber price and availability.

Guess houses in florida with the pools are going to go up. Houses around here are 20-% up and still getting over asking prices.

I’ve heard repeatedly from an industry expert that it’s just hurricane season and osb spikes every year. (If said expert happens to read this, I’m just givin’ you **** buddy)

Labor and materials are outrageous right now. I’m a small time GC and getting subs is very difficult right now. I’m not losing on price, I’m reluctant to bid all the work I can because help is so scarce. While other businesses are sturggling, construction is thriving.
