So, had a blast running the family through the trails, taking turns... Took the doors and soft top off for the first time since owning her... That was fun! Some of the fam headed home and I went to hit some of the harder stuff with my dad, daughter, and brother in law... Sammi did exceptional...
My sis and brother in law haven't been wheeling with me yet, so I figured we would take a quick trip up to Reiter today... Take turns driving them over the rocks n stuff... Anyone else going today?
Perhaps unrelated... But back when I was a teen I bought a motor from a junkyard(pontiac 350 big block) which had similar symptoms... Would seem to idle okay in park, but died every time I put it in gear and added a load to the engine... Only way to drive it anywhere was to power-brake it...
I'm working this weekend and holiday(nights)... But I may try and get out at least once this weekend(somewhere)... Just want to fab up a yota square tube driveline first... I'll keep you posted if I get it done and decide to go out.
I'm gone this weekend to a Rc Heli Funfly in Othello Wa. My wheeler is doing great, but I really wanna fab up a yota square tube driveline before I go out again.. I'll try my hand at making one after I get back from the weekend... Should be ready after that...
Just my opinion... But I think your picture answers your question... Lol
Was it running dry? Or perhaps it wasn't fully milled to full spec and developed slop? Or perhaps it is just not the right 'hardness' for the metal?
I'm new to chromolies and their wear patterns... But I know I'd be...
I know right! Was one of the bonuses of buying that rig... I think I would have to modify my exo cage to run it myself... Haven't fully decided if I wanna keep it for myself, or if it will help motivate a sale...
Might be looking to sell the second samurai I picked up to swap out the axles into mine... I don't think I will need to try and keep/maintain 2 wheeler rigs at this time... So, just testing the waters to see if anyone is interested to buy a sammi.
Some of the pros:
Locked front and rear...
Can you take a few pics of how the fiberglass top over the driver attaches? My second sammi I just bought has the same top/style... But isn't mounted... Not sure if I'm going to turn mine into a Daily Driver(I just bought it for the toyota axles, then figured I'd resell it with my locked sammi...
I'm amazed that ANYONES trailer can hold up to the abuse they take bombing up that road!!! Lol. Not to mention my poor 318 and auto trans in my dodge that both struggle to keep up with the caravan of trucks n wheelers when I've gone there! ;-P
Alas, I won't be making it... I'm doing some TLC...
